‘Sons of Anarchy’ creator toasts record ratings

Kurt Sutter, the usually shy and retiring creator of FX’s motorcycle-gang drama ‘Sons of Anarchy,’ likes to spread the joy where he can. So when news broke Wednesday that his show broke ratings records in its Season 4 premiere this week, the usually reserved writer-producer raced to his Twitter account to toast the happy tidings.
‘I will gladly take viewers instead of awards,’ Sutter tweeted, referring to his longstanding and quite public gripes about ‘Sons of Anarchy’s’ Emmy tally. He then proceeded to take a swipe at AMC’s ‘Mad Men,’ writing that ‘they have more Emmys than viewers.’ (Sutter had said last month he was leaving Twitter after he attacked ‘Mad Men’ for allegedly creating budget woes at AMC.)
In Tuesday’s season premiere, ‘Sons of Anarchy’ reached 4.9 million total viewers, up 19% compared with its third season premiere, according to Nielsen.
Sutter wasn’t done with his victory lap. In a later tweet, he added, ‘my penis grows in proportion with our viewership....’
Dude has a way with words, you have to give him that.
