AMC OKs two reality series, sets 90-minute 'Walking Dead' opener
“The Walking Dead” will kick off its 13-episode second season with a 90-minute episode Oct. 16.
And taking a cue from the sluggish zombies that roam in the series, the sophomore season will take a leisurely approach, with the season split into two halves. The show will air its first seven episodes over October and November. The final six episodes will begin airing Feb. 12.
The network also announced two new series: “Secret Stash,” a reality series with Kevin Smith (“Clerks”) as one of its executive producers, which looks at fanboy culture in the setting of the Smith’s New Jersey comic shop, Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash. In addition, “JJK Security” is an “unscripted workplace dramedy” that chronicles the employees of a family-owned private security firm in rural Georgia -- it’s said to be inspired by filmmakers including the Coen brothers and Christopher Guest.
Both will air in 2012.
