This week’s TV Movies

SUNDAY

“Why Is Sex Fun?” is topic A on a sexy new installment of the science-y series “Curiosity.” Maggie Gyllenhaal, who starred in the sexy 2002 comedy-drama “Secretary,” is your hostess for this very sexy inquiry. (Discovery, 8 and 11 p.m.)

Many people own more than one pair of shoes. Most households have at least one vacuum cleaner. But you’ll meet everyday people who are sitting on a surplus of these and other items in the new special “My Collection Obsession.” (TLC, 10 p.m.)

MONDAY

In the third season premire of the unscripted series “The T.O. Show,” flamboyant NFL free-agent wide receiver Terrell Owens undergoes emergency surgery to repair his ACL, damaged in an off-season mishap, which may put his career in jeopardy. (VH1, 9:30 p.m.)

TUESDAY

Love during wartime: It doesn’t take much to see that the problems of Rick and Ilsa (Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, above) don’t amount to a hill of beans in the crazy world of “Casablanca” in this classic 1942 romantic drama. (TCM, 9 p.m.)

WEDNESDAY

Arrr! Thar be tales of hidden riches in — what? No pirates? OK, switching to normal voice: The new series “Buried Treasure” is a sort of reverse “Antiques Roadshow,” visiting folks’ homes to assess the real value of their prized possessions. (Fox, 8 p.m.)

“Life,” wrote Shakespeare, “is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.” “Life 2.0,” however, is just a documentary, about participants in the online virtual-reality environment-game-community known as Second Life. (OWN, 9 p.m.)

FRIDAY

The family that plays together: The 2010 doc “Talihina Sky: The Story of Kings of Leon” charts the rags-to-riches rise of the soulful Southern indie-rock band led by the brothers Followill of Mount Juliet, Tenn. (Showtime, 9:30 p.m.; also Sun. 10 p.m.)

SATURDAY

Like most who serve their country, NFL player turned Army Ranger Pat Tillman (below) was a hero. Less than heroic was the military’s attempted coverup of the circumstances of his death in Afghanistan in 2004, an exercise in duplicity documented in the 2010 exposé “The Tillman Story.” (Showtime, 10 p.m.)
