Louie: Our humble hero (Louis C.K.) finds himself in Afghanistan on a new episode of the comedy (10:31 p.m. FX).


Earth Overhaul: Scientists consider unconventional methods for tackling climate change in this new special (7 and 10 p.m. National Geographic).

Secret Access: UFOs on the Record: This special investigates some of the more credible eyewitness accounts of so-called close encounters (8 p.m. History).


The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Martin Freeman, Mos Def, Sam Rockwell and Zooey Deschanel star in this 2005 sci-fi fable based on Douglas Adams' book (8:05 and 10:20 p.m. IFC).

Life 2.0: Everyday people who immerse themselves in an online role-playing game are profiled in this 2010 doc (9 p.m. OWN).


Baseball: Regional coverage (10 a.m. and 5 p.m. MLB); the Cubs battle the Braves (11 a.m. WGN America).

Little League baseball: Play continues at the World Series in Williamsport, Pa. (1 p.m. ESPN; 5 p.m. ESPN2).
