Ben Affleck directs and stars as a Boston bank robber in the 2010 crime drama “The Town,” at 8 p.m. on HBO.  


MTV30 on VH1 Classic: Memorable moments, musical or otherwise, from MTV’s first 30 years are spotlighted in a three-day marathon (6 a.m. VH1 Classic). 

Help! I’m Becoming a Cat Lady! It’s an all-out cat-pocalypse – or, if you prefer, cat-mageddon – in this new special (7 p.m. Animal Planet). 

Nick & Vanessa’s Dream Wedding: Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo are hoping it all comes off with and without a hitch in this new special (9 p.m. TLC). 


Ultraviolet: Milla Jovovich is a one-woman wrecking crew in this futuristic 2006 action tale (8 p.m. KDOC). 

The Cabin: “Caroline in the City’s” Lea Thompson stars in this new made-for-cable fable set in Scotland (8 p.m. Hallmark Movie Channel).

The Tourist: Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie star in this surprisingly dull 2010 thriller (9 p.m. Starz). 

Age of the Dragons: Herman Melville’s “Moby-Dick” gets a medieval makeover in this 2011 fantasy tale (9 p.m. Syfy). 

It’s Kind of a Funny Story: Keir Gilchrist, Zach Galifianakis and Emma Roberts star in this 2010 comedy set in a psychiatric ward (10 p.m. Cinemax). 


X Games: There’s more extreme-sports action on tap at the annual four-day event in Los Angeles (11 a.m. and 7 p.m. ESPN; 6 p.m. ESPN2). 

Golf: Play continues at the Greenbrier Classic (noon CBS) and the U.S. Senior Open Championship (noon NBC). 

Baseball: The Angels take on the Tigers (1 p.m. Fox), the Red Sox meet the White Sox (4 p.m. WGN America) and the Dodgers host the Diamondbacks (7 p.m. KCAL). 

Soccer: Barcelona battles Manchester United in an exhibition match (4 p.m. ESPN2).
