Kat Von D, the tattoo artist who just announced her breakup with fiance Jesse James, stormed off the set of Fox 11’s “Good Day L.A.” Wednesday just before she was going on the set to promote her TLC reality series “L.A. Ink.”

Von D fled the station when she was being introduced with a clip from the show in which she surprises James with showing him a new tattoo on her of a picture of him as a youth. The clip is included in the TLC series.

Her abrupt departure left the show’s anchors and producers confused over what had upset her. She had been booked on the show before the couple’s split, and producers had said her only request for the planned interview was that the subject of James’ ex-wife, Oscar winner Sandra Bullock, not be brought up.

But anchor and weather reporter Jillian Barberie added that Von D had told her in the commercial break just before the segment that she did not want to discuss her breakup with James.

[Updated at 9:55 a.m.: Von D tweeted her comments about her walkout: “Dear Good Day L.A, Thanks for the waste of a perfecty good morning. Lack of compassion and respect for each other never fails to disappoint me.”

Barbarie pointed out that TLC sent the clip, which was designed to promote the tattoo artist’s show.]
