On Wednesday’s episode of ‘The Daily Show,’ Jon Stewart blasted conservatives for what he sees as their hypocritical claims of victimization.

The main target of Stewart’s attack was, once again, Fox News, whose various personalities have criticized the ‘liberal media’ for what they see as anti-Christian bias in the wake of last week’s tragedy in Norway.

Whether or not the claims of bias are justified, Stewart thinks it’s hypocritical for conservatives to play the victim card, given how they denounce liberals for doing the very same thing. ‘I guess the reason conservatives hate it when liberals play the victim card is that it distracts from the real victims: conservatives,’ he joked.

Stewart cut to the tape: a montage of right-leaning pundits declaring things like ‘the last acceptable prejudice is anti-Catholicism’ and ‘Christians are the last acceptable people who can be discriminated against.’

He followed with a second montage in which talking heads made severe and less-than-entirely-accurate generalizations about the left (e.g. ‘liberals love dictators,’ ‘liberals don’t have five kids’). It ended with a whiny clip from Sean Hannity: ‘So vicious, so mean, and so cruel. And I don’t hear this coming from conservatives about liberals.’

‘You don’t?’ Stewart asked. ‘That is, if I may say, some of the most free-range, organically grown disingenuous, ideologically marinated, un-self-awareness I’ve ever seen in the wild.’

‘If you want to learn more about the hateful hyperbolic name-calling and malice-mongering that people on the right face every day in this country, visit your local library and check out some of these informative titles,’ he said. Then he cut to yet another well-edited sequence of sensationalistic books by conservatives: ‘Arguing With Idiots,’ ‘Demonic: How the Liberal Mob Is Endangering America, and ‘Control Freaks: Seven Ways Liberals Plan to Control Your Life.’
