A 'Walking Dead' star tells us what to expect in Season 2: More zombies!
AMC's hit zombie series "The Walking Dead" doesn't return for its second season until Halloween, but a new ghoulish photo from the show is stirring excitement about what might be in store for the band of survivors struggling to retain their humanity in post-apocalyptic Atlanta.
Sarah Wayne Callies, who plays Lori Grimes, promises plenty more scares, which isn't necessarily great news for an actress who admits that she's not a horror fan. In fact, she's says still recovering from her work on the show's first six episodes, even as shooting on Season 2 gets underway.
"I’m still having nightmares," Callies said. "Constantly. I’m just somebody that doesn’t like to be scared. You could argue that that means that I have the wrong job at the moment."
There is one upside, though, to being really terrified as you're playing a character who is supposedly to be, well, really terrified, Callies said. "Those become days where you don’t have to think too hard about what you’re doing because your natural response is a long string of unprintable expletives," she said. "I guess it works. My psyche is a shivering wreck at this moment."
In a release that accompanied the new image, Darabont had this to say: "At this moment, I'm standing on a stretch of post-apocalypse interstate in Georgia, littered with abandoned cars and blessing my good luck to be reunited with our amazing cast, and our fantastic directors and crew. Across the board, there are none better. It's great to be shooting again. I think we've embarked on a great season."
