Outcasts: In a future where pollution, nuclear war and famine have rendered Earth uninhabitable, an elite group of pioneers is starting over on a planet called Carpathia in this new sci-fi series starring Liam Cunningham, Eric Mabius and Jamie Bamber (6 and 9 p.m. BBC America). 

Celebrity Ghost Stories: In the season premiere Regis Philbin recalls spending the night in a notorious haunted house (6 and 9 p.m. Biography). 

Celebrity Close Calls: The premiere of this new series recalls an incident where Ice-T was pronounced dead (7 and 8 p.m. Biography). 

America's Most Wanted: America Fights Back: Tonight's series finale marks the end of a television era after more than two decades of telling fugitives' stories and seeking viewers' help in finding them, leading to captures of more than 1,100 fugitives and suspects (9 p.m. Fox).

The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter: Alan Arkin and Sondra Locke — in her film debut — earned Oscar nominations for their work in this 1968 adaptation of a Carson McCullers novel about a deaf-mute man (Arkin) who relocates to be near an institutionalized friend. Stacy Keach and Cicely
