About (Late) Last Night: Jason Sudeikis disses Justin Bieber on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' [Video]
With a high-profile job hosting the upcoming MTV Movie Awards and a role in one of the summer's biggest comedies, "Horrible Bosses," Jason Sudeikis is on a professional hot streak at the moment.
But on Thursday night's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the SNL star may have imperiled everything by committing the most unconscionable sin of all: He dissed The Bieb.
It all started out innocently enough. Dudes that they are, Kimmel and Sudeikis started by chatting about basketball. The last time they'd seen each other was at an NBA All-Star Weekend game. Kimmel, who was supposed to coach, was replaced at the last minute by Magic Johnson. Meanwhile Sudeikis warmed the bench for most of the game -- a crushing blow made even more intolerable by the fact that teen hearthrob Justib Bieber was named MVP.
"I think they just thought that we'd get trampled by 14-year-old girls if we didn't name him the MVP," Kimmel joked. "But he was pretty good, actually."
Sudeikis agreed ... sort of. "He was. His game was sporadic, but confident."
"Did you talk to Justin Bieber?" Kimmel asked.
"Little bit. Just a little bit. I didn't even know it was him for the first two quarters. I thought it was a Make-A-Wish situation," Sudeikis claimed, in a joke about the charity that grants wishes to terminally ill children.
Kimmel's audience didn't seem to mind the humor -- in fact, the line got big laughs -- but Bieber's die-hard loyalists might not take Sudeikis' wise-cracking so well. The comedian would be well advised to steer clear of malls for at least a few weeks.
