About (Late) Last Night: Cameron Diaz removes Jon Stewart's stitches, cracks up with Jimmy Fallon [Video]

June 22, 2011 |  8:53 am

Cameron Diaz was a busy woman on Tuesday night. The actress was in New York promoting her new comedy, "Bad Teacher," where she displayed unusual dedication to the task at hand.

The first stop on her tour was "The Daily Show" where, in lieu of the usual canned conversation and shameless plugging, Diaz performed a more delicate procedure: removing the stitches Jon Stewart received after his on-air margarita-glass mishap two weeks ago. Armed with a pair of blunt scissors and some tweezers (do not try this at home, folks!), Diaz took evident glee in the task, squealing with delight each time she successful removed a stitch. (Something tells me she's probably a pimple popper too.)

Later, Diaz stopped by "Late Night" for a chat with Jimmy Fallon. And while she didn't administer CPR or cauterize any limbs, she once again proved herself game for a little fun. Diaz co-starred with Fallon in a fake Canadian talk show called "Other Voices." The conceit: Diaz and Fallon can't talk, and must instead play along as actors off stage deliver increasingly ridiculous lines. Watch Fallon and Diaz try -- and fail -- to keep their faces straight in the clip below.
