After a week filled with a grandstanding Trump, a royal wedding and a star-studded White House Correspondents’ Assn. dinner, word leaked out that Osama bin Laden was dead, and everyone from Rob Lowe (@roblowe) and Neil Patrick Harris (@ActuallyNPH) to ‘Jersey Shore’ star Vinny G (@VinnyGuadagnino) and NBC News reporter Kelly O’Donnell (@kellyo) popped on to Twitter to share the news.

Meanwhile, Marlee Matlin (@MarleeMatlin) was torn by the desire to support her show, ‘Celebrity Apprentice,’ which was preempted on the East Coast by the news -- and to support her conscience. ‘Modern Family’ star Eric Stonestreet (@ericstonestreet) joshingly expressed surprise that no one gossiped about the impending Bin Laden killing at the correspondents dinner the previous night. And poor Paris Hilton (@parishilton) got off an airplane and tweeted before checking her own twitter feed.
