Taylor Momsen, Jessica Szohr dropped as 'Gossip Girl' regulars
Spotted: Little Miss Jenny Humphrey and Vanessa Abrams getting the pink slip from the CW.
OK. Not really. But a source close to the show did confirm that Taylor Momsen (Jenny) and Jessica Szohr (Vanessa) will not be returning to “Gossip Girl” as series regulars.
The news is hardly shocking. It’s no secret that the eyeliner-addicted Momsen has made her rock band Pretty Reckless her main focus. And Szohr hasn’t been involved in any major plotlines for a while -- plus, her character recently revealed that she was leaving town to study abroad (always the perfect solution for getting rid of a character).
But the rest of the GG gang -- Blake, Leighton, Chase, Ed and Penn -- remains intact. And Kaylee DeFer, who plays Serena’s cousin Charlie, has been promoted to series regular.

Good for Jessica. Her character has always been so dour, and Jessica herself seems to have a great, infectious personality. A new role that lets that shine through is just what she needs.

I'm still waiting for the affair between Chuck Bass and Nate Archibald. Time for that "bromance" to heat up to simmer and boil. :)

i'm really happy they're writing off vanessa from the show! i hate her! never liked her! i also dont like jenny so i dont really care whether she stays or goes.. i love georgina though, i prefer that she be promoted to series regular.. and oh let's not forget my oh so handsome and super hot prince. i wish prince louis would be promoted to a series regular annd that he be the permanent love of blair.. i love blair and louis.. chuck can go find another girl to harrass! leave blair alone! she deserves better!

honestly the character of jenny was getting on my nerves since last season. i liked vanessa but then she did bad things to serena ... i don't watch the show anymore nowdays ...

Jenny I'll miss because she was definitely my favourite character - whether I'll now continue to watch I don't know. I never liked Vanessa as a character whereas (as much as I love and I mean LOVE the pretty reckless) Jenny was always such a fun character.
But I HATE Charlie - she's annoying. As long as Serena and Dan get back together and Jenny comes back sometime I'll be happy.
