Show Tracker switching to Facebook commenting system

Facebook-comments Show Tracker today is switching to a new commenting system.

The system requires commenters to sign in through their Facebook accounts. People without Facebook accounts will not be able to leave comments.

Readers will have the option of posting their Show Tracker comments on their Facebook walls, but that's not required.

The change is part of an experiment on Show Tracker and several other Times blogs. Readers are welcome to express their opinions about the news -- and about how the new Facebook comments system is working.

Jimmy Orr, the L.A. Times managing editor in charge of latimes.com, discusses the Facebook system in greater depth.

Then consider this my last comment on Showtracker.

Hate it. Last comment from me, as I won't be returning to your website.

I will not sign up for a privacy-robbing account like Facebook just to post here.
