Paula Abdul joins Simon Cowell on 'X Factor'

Simon and Paula are back together again, judging vocal talent on Cowell's "The X Factor."

In typical high drama, Paula Abdul officially closed a last-minute deal with the Fox network Sunday that reunited her with her former "American Idol" colleague Simon Cowell on the highly anticipated show.

Auditions for the reality singing competition began Sunday at the Galen Center at USC in Los Angeles.

Paula Abdul appeared a bit overwhelmed as she prepared to enter the first taping of the show and meet her fellow judges -- Cheryl Cole, Antonio “L.A." Reid and Cowell -- as a group for the first time.

"It’s awkward and wonderful and beautiful at the same time," Abdul said as she was whisked by reporters.

She pointed out that it had been three years since she and executive producer and fellow judge Simon Cowell had sat together on "American Idol": "I really miss him."

But will viewers see a different, less bizarre Paula? She smiled: "I am who I am."

"X Factor" is expected to debut in the fall.

This is awesome news!!!!!!!!!!!!hope to see some great talent and celebrity guest like R&B/Pop grammy award winner,Dancing with the Stars contestant Brandy Norwood Performing!!!!!!!!!!!CONGRATS PAULA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what lovely teeth!

Nice - drug addicts can relax and know that it is possible to be seen as totally out of it in public and still get hired. Why must we read this crap. Some people out there can't even find a job, yet this woman who was rarely sober for a show of American Idol gets a million dollar contract. It's like we're regressing into rich vs poor society and we keep lapping it up. Is there anything left for anyone else other than the Kardashians to advertise? Scary times...

She is a drama queen and tool

Paula and Cheryl Cole looked great together at the Galen Center audition.

I was hoping for Paula Simon and Arta Garfunkel.

M. Simon (no relation to Paul or Paula)

Paula is awful. She is incoherent. She babbles. Worse yet, she time hogs, taking commentary time away from the more articulate and informed judges.

"Schmoe" and "Lame" are right about P. Abdul. Cheryl Cole has a Geordie accent but she still speaks clearly and intelligently. If the Yanks don't understand her it's because they are to lazy to listen.
