Fall TV season: Watch sneak previews of ABC's new 'Charlie's Angels' and 'Pan Am' [Video]

May 17, 2011 | 12:21 pm

ABC unveiled its fall schedule Tuesday at its upfronts presentation in New York, announcing a long-awaited remake of the classic jigglefest, "Charlie's Angels." The network also scheduled a "Mad Men"-esque 1960s-based jet-setting drama, "Pan Am," about flyboys and glamour girls who may just double as spies.

"Charlie's Angels," like its predecessor in the '70s, will follow three women who are "fearless detectives, head-turning beauties and close friends." Set in Miami, the sun-soaked drama gives the characters a little edge in their backstories -- thief, street racer, disgraced cop -- and stars Minka Kelly ("Parenthood"), Rachael Taylor ("Grey's Anatomy"), Annie Ilonzeh ("General Hospital") and Ramon Rodriguez ("The Wire") as Bosley. The elusive Charlie Townsend, their boss, is still presumably heard and not seen. Drew Barrymore and her production partner Nancy Juvonen are executive producers.

"Pan Am," set in a time when air travel was luxurious, stars Christina Ricci ("Penelope") and comes from writer/executive producer Tommy Schlamme ("The West Wing").
