Fall TV season: Watch a sneak preview of Shonda Rhimes' new ABC drama 'Scandal' [Video]

May 17, 2011 |  2:24 pm

ABC unveiled its fall schedule Tuesday at its upfront presentation in New York, announcing a midseason drama, "Scandal," about political fixers in Washington.

The series comes from Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers, the team that created two consecutive hits for the network, "Grey's Anatomy" and "Private Practice." ("Off the Map," their most recent effort, lasted a single season.)

"Scandal" stars Kerry Washington ("Ray") as a former White House image-tender who launches her own crisis management company. Her dysfunctional staff can spin the media and bury clients' misdeeds, but they can't fix their own lives.

Henry Ian Cusick ("Lost"), Jeff Perry ("Grey's Anatomy"), Columbus Short ("Stomp the Yard") and Tony Goldwyn ("Ghost") star in the series, written by Rhimes.
