Fall TV season: Watch sneak previews of ABC dramas 'Revenge,' and 'Good Christian Belles' [Video]

May 17, 2011 |  1:57 pm

ABC unveiled its fall and midseason schedule Tuesday at its upfronts presentation in New York, announcing two new  dramas, "Revenge" and "Good Christian Belles," in which there will be no lack of plotting, scheming, back-stabbing and catfighting.

"Revenge," launching in the fall, puts young Emily Thorne ("Brothers & Sisters'" Emily Van Camp) back in her seemingly idyllic, wealthy hometown, determined to punish those responsible for her family's downfall.

The series also stars Madeleine Stowe ("The Last of the Mohicans") and Gabriel Mann ("The Bourne Identity"), with a pilot directed and executive produced by Phillip Noyce ("Salt").

"Good Christian Belles," slated for midseason, is a soapy Dallas-based drama that promises to expose the catty underbelly of its well-heeled society folks. Based on the book "Good Christian Bitches" by Kim Gatlin, the story centers on a divorcee who returns to her hometown after a 20-year absence. She and her teenage kids have to deal with the coiffed and caustic women of the show's title.

Leslie Bibb ("Iron Man"), Annie Potts ("Law & Order: SVU") and Kristin Chenoweth ("Pushing Daisies") are among the stars, with "Sex and the City" alum Darren Star as an executive producer.
