Royally Mad: Five Americans travel to London to indulge in the royal wedding fairytale in the conclusion of this two-part series hosted by Cat Deeley (7 and 8 p.m. BBC America).

Explorer: The series starts a new season with “Mystery of the Murdered Saints,” in which, for the first time, the Catholic Church allows forensics experts to conduct a scientific examination of what are purported to be saints’ remains (7 and 10 p.m. National Geographic).

Black in Latin America: This new miniseries, the brainchild of Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr., explains how people of African descent shaped the cultures of the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central and South America (8 p.m. KOCE).

Parenthood: Sarah (Lauren Graham) fears for Amber’s (Mae Whitman) well-being after the girl is involved in an accident and Adam (Peter Krause) reacts poorly to Max’s (Max Burkholder) behavior in the season finale (10 p.m. NBC).

Independent Lens: In the new episode “Waste Land” artist Vik Muniz travels to the world’s largest garbage dump in Brazil; where he photographs catadores, collectors, as they pick through materials to sell for recycling (10 p.m. KLCS).

16 and Pregnant: With current statistics indicating that three out of 10 girls in the United States will get pregnant before they are 20, this series, returning for a new season tonight, chronicles some true stories of pregnant teenagers as they face the already challenging demands of relationships, schoolwork, finances along with the intimidating responsibilities of being a young parent (10 p.m. MTV).

Basketball: NBA playoffs: The New York Knicks visit the Boston Celtics Eastern (4 p.m. TNT); the Portland Trail Blazers visit the Dallas Mavericks (6:30 p.m. TNT)
