Katie Couric to appear on 'Today': A sign of things to come?
Katie Couric will appear as a guest on NBC's "Today," a show she once co-anchored, the network announced Tuesday. On Wednesday morning, Couric will chat about her new book, "The Best Advice I Ever Got: Lessons From Extraordinary Lives," and her possible plans for the future.
Since it's widely believed that Couric will soon cede her post at "CBS Evening News" to Scott Pelley, her choice to appear on a rival network's morning show should raise a few eyebrows: Couric has been talking with former "Today" show producer Jeff Zucker about possibly teaming up on a syndicated talk show, and some are already speculating that "Today" host Matt Lauer, who will see his contract with NBC News end in 2012, will reunite with Couric and Zucker on that project.
Might Couric have an announcement to make on Wednesday? We'll report back in the morning.

I was so sad when Katie Couric didn't appear as the new host of Larry King Live, or rather, Katie Live.
That seems to be the perfect venue for her. Nightly, topical, interview format, plenty of room for her to be herself. She could chat with celebrities and politicians and do a little breaking news, etc.
For all the people who have criticized her and called her a lightweight, hear this...that's ridiculous.
She's an exceptionally strong and intelligent woman. I met her in the 1990s and had a chance to follow her around for a day and was blown away by her intellect and work ethic.
How on earth did a seasoned reporter and exceptional interviewer ever get the "she's too fluff for network news"....ugh.
She's perfect for a talk show. I hope it's one in which she can show up at night so more viewers can see her.
Good for you Katie Couric!
Can't wait to see more of you and your personality.

Please don't even kid around with speculation like that. For the love of all that is holy, Katie Couric should NEVER EVER return to the Today Show. That will be a mistake of epic proportions. I like Katie very much, she is wonderful. However, she needs to have her own talk show or host an hourly news program type deal. She left the Today Show for good reason. The Today Show has plenty of pickings right from their very own talent pool. They have several acceptable candidates that possess a wealth of knowledge regarding current events and each would be more than worthy of being nominated as Meredith's replacement.

Katie Couric, what a joke! Really, is she news, she took a halfway decent (liberal) news cast and took it into the toilet. Terrible, is all I can say about any news story on Katie Couric. She was terrible and as the ratings tanked, they kept bringing her out.
