Glenn Beck ending Fox News show later this year

Beck Glenn Beck will "transition off of his daily program" later this year, Beck and Fox News announced on Wednesday. The statement did not specify an end date for the show, but Beck's contract is up in December.

In a joint news release, Fox News and Mercury Radio Arts, Beck's production company, said that they will "work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News' digital properties." The release did not state what those programs will be.

Beck has been thinking about leaving Fox for a while and has considered taking over a cable channel or expanding his subscription video service online.

"Glenn Beck is a powerful communicator, a creative entrepreneur and a true success by anybody's standards," said Roger Ailes, Chairman and chief executive of Fox News, in the statement. "I look forward to continuing to work with him."

"I truly believe that America owes a lot to Roger Ailes and Fox News," said Beck. "I cannot repay Roger for the lessons I've learned and will continue to learn from him and I look forward to starting this new phase of our partnership."

Replacing Glenn Beck with Donald Trump is a boss move by Fox News.

thank God. now, replace hannity.

Good riddance to bad (crazy bad!) rubbish!

I wondered when Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes were going to come to their senses about sponsoring a narcissistic, psychotic whackjob on their airwaves. As a true, originalist conservative [not of the faux variety of a Scalia, but the real thing], I am deeply troubled by the Beck/Hannity brand of reactionary extremism masquerading as constitutionalism and originalism. Getting rid of Beck is a welcome beginning to spreading faithful and true conservatism, but it is only a beginning.

That's a shame. Glenn Beck and Roger Ailes really deserve each other.

We have watched Fox News for a long time to learn the truth about politics in our country. We have watched Glenn Beck since he has been on Fox for the in-depth truth, not only about politics, but about our world.

The rest of the brodcasters are not as well rounded for presenting the truth as Glenn and it is a shame that Fox doesn't want the unvarnished truth as Glenn presents but, rather the diluted truths as presented by the other broadcasters on its station.

When Glenn goes from Fox we go from Fox. It's a sad day for the public when the real truth is gone.

Gaddafi or Berlusconi might be available, though subtitles would a challenge for the Fox audience. But seriously, folks, Palin's the obvious replacement. She's wearing thin with broader public opinion, but still revered by those out in right field. I don't see her running for prez (being governor of a state with the population of Memphis was just too, like, annoying for her), but letting the speculation drag on is good for business.

It looks like the GlennPocalypse is going to come sooner than anyone could have expected: http://gtcha.me/hQvBX8

Fox "news" -- NEWS?? LOL. and finally Beck was too insane even for fox "news".

Bye bye beck and dr. laura!

what a tool he is.

Best news I've heard all year! I hope he gets some mental health care.

The sooner the better !!!

Now that Fox News has finally accepted that the Earth is not flat, Beck needs to move on to a network more in touch with his views.

I hear Neanderthal TV is hiring.

Phew! I thought Fox was going to give him the Howard Beale sendoff.

Why stop him now he was so close to playing with his poop!

"Beck has been thinking about leaving Fox for a while"

Thinking about leaving? Beck went from getting 3 million viewers a night to around 1.8 million in less than a year.

Thinking about leaving? FOX News gets 1/3 of the ad money from his show as compared to other programs with the same audience.

Thinking about leaving? This comically inaccurate hate monger's radio show has been cancelled in both New York and Philadelphia.

Beck is one of the great cowards in recent memory

Please...let there be a "GLENN BECK" Cable channel.

American needs glenn Beck. He is the only one who will speak the truth - speak it to power and move forward to advocate for real freedom in America.

God Bless Glenn Beck and keep him before the country.

Any cable channel would be very smart to bring him on and the automatic following who would have....

David McKalip,M.D.

How about Keith Olberman for Beck's slot?

Well, who cares? A talking head who is not worth watching, is leaving a news channel that is not worth watching. It's like doing a math problem consisting only of zeros.

Beck was the best thing FoxNews had going for it. Others are good, but none as insightful and articulate to the current world power players as Beck. I hope Glenn keeps up his work to bring us the real truth about what our administration and his cronies are doing.
