BOOSTER:
A superhero from the future (Eric Martsolf), makes a big splash in Metropolis and challenges the Blur on “Smallville” at 8 p.m. on KTLA. 

SERIES

Supernatural: Dean (Jensen Ackles) discovers the journal of Samuel Colt (Sam Hennings) in the Campbell library while seeking a way to protect Eve, so he asks Castiel (Misha Collins) to send him and Sam (Jared Padalecki) back in time to meet the man (9 p.m. KTLA). 

Royal Wedding of a Lifetime: This new episode focuses on the love story behind the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton (9 p.m. Lifetime). The series finale, which imagines the royal couple's life after their wedding, follows at 10.

20/20: Barbara Walters interviews Elton John and David Furnish in this new episode (10 p.m. ABC). 

SPECIALS

Girls' Night Out: Superstar Women of Country: The honorees in this new awards show include the Judds, Martina McBride, Loretta Lynn, Miranda Lambert, Jennifer Nettles, Reba McEntire and Carrie Underwood. Presenters, who will also perform with their honorees, include Ronnie Dunn, Rascal Flatts and Vince Gill (9 p.m. CBS). 

Talking Funny: Ricky Gervais, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock and Louis C.K. discuss comedy in this new special (9 p.m. HBO). 

MOVIES

Stella Dallas: Director King Vidor's 1937 drama casts Barbara Stanwyck in the title role of a rough-around-the-edges woman who marries above her station, Stella is left by her husband (John Boles), making her more determined to give her child everything possible (7 p.m. TCM). 

SPORTS

Baseball: The Dodgers visit the Chicago Cubs (11 a.m. FS Prime and WGN A); the Boston Red Sox visit the Angels (7 p.m. FSN). 

Basketball: NBA playoffs: The Boston Celtics visit the New York Knicks (4 p.m. ESPN); the Orlando Magic visit the Atlanta Hawks (5 p.m. ESPN2); the Lakers visit the New Orleans Hornets (6:30 p.m. ESPN). 

Hockey: NHL playoffs: The Phoenix Coyotes visit the Detroit Red Wings (4 p.m. VS); the Buffalo Sabres visit the Philadelphia Flyers (6:30 p.m. VS); the Nashville Predators visit the Ducks (7 p.m. FS Prime and VS).
