About (Late) Last Night: Denise Richards on her ex, Charlie Sheen: ‘It makes me sad’

For weeks, Denise Richards has managed to maintain her silence regarding the increasingly bizarre behavior of her ex-husband, Charlie Sheen. Thursday night on ‘Watch What Happens Live,’ Bravo’s brand ambassador finally got Richards to come clean.
‘I have to ask you about Charlie Sheen,’ Cohen said, pretending to be bashful. ‘What do you think of the tour?’ he asked.
‘For me it’s very sad to see him on this path. I’ve heard he’s chosen to use me in part of his tour and that’s hurtful, but that’s his choice,’ said Richards, who is in communication with Sheen but admitted, ‘We’re not in the best place right now, to be honest with you.’
For his part, Cohen was mostly interested in Sheen’s new girlfriends, and asked Richards if she or her daughters had met ‘the goddesses.’ (She has; they haven’t.)
Richards cautiously expressed her reservations with Sheen’s lifestyle choice. ‘I’ve accepted it. There’s things that aren’t the most appropriate for two young and impressionable daughters,’ she said.
In the rawest moment of the interview, Cohen asked Richards if she knew whether Sheen was currently sober. She stammered a bit, expressed her disappointment that he’s no longer on a ‘well-written, hugely popular’ show, then finally confessed, ‘I don’t know if he’s sober right now.’
