Who needs Charlie Sheen? Jon Cryer has landed a temp job
While Charlie Sheen is on a drug called … uh … Charlie Sheen and his hit sitcom is put on hold for the rest of this season, the only logical thing for “Two and a Half Men” costar Jon Cryer to do is seek another form of employment.
And nothing is too lowly for Cryer.
The actor has brushed up on his phone-answering skills to be the receptionist for Ellen DeGeneres.
“I needed the work,” he deadpans in a clip that airs Thursday on "Ellen."
Let’s hope it remains fictitious. Though judging from DeGeneres’ praise — “You do the work of two and a half men” — Cryer has something to fall back on.
If nothing else, we thank him for finally clearing up the secret behind DeGeneres’ slick moves.

Leave it to the lovably witty Ellen DeGeneres to turn a tired media buffet on it's head and refocus some deserving attention on the astute comic Jon Cryer. Is it too soon to start speculating about a possible sitcom starring Cryer with DeGeneres in a supporting role? I always thought he was the glue that held "Two and a Half Men" together. I say put Showtime on alert.
