America's Next Top Model: This new episode has the girls covered in mud and not much else (8 p.m. KTLA). 

American Idol: The finalists perform songs by Elton John in this new episode (8 p.m. Fox). 

NOVA: This new episode looks in detail at the March 11 earthquake, the worst to ever strike Japan, which spawned a tsunami with 30-foot-high waves that destroyed entire towns and severely damaged nuclear power stations (9 p.m. KOCE). 

Mr. Sunshine: Crystal (Allison Janney) wants to use the Sunshine Center for a friend's funeral in this new episode (9:30 p.m. ABC). 

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior: As Sam (Forest Whitaker) and the rest of the team investigate the abductions of several women, they realize one of the victims was never reported missing in this new episode (10 p.m. CBS). 

Journey to Planet Earth: This new episode documents an emerging economy based on renewable sources and strategies to avoid the threat of global warming (10 p.m. KOCE). 

Top Chef: Gimmicky challenges are set aside as the deciding moment arrives and the two remaining chefs are invited simply to create the ultimate dining experience that will win one of them the grand prize and the coveted title of Top Chef on the season finale (10 p.m. Bravo). 

South Beach Classics: This new unscripted series revolves around a couple who sell classic cars in Miami (10 p.m. Discovery). 

Coal: This new entry in the “macho-mentary” follows the CEO and staff of a small mining company as they struggle to make a bituminous coal mine in West Virginia pay off (10 p.m. Spike). 

Tyler Perry's House of Payne: In the season premiere CJ and Janine (Allen Payne, Demetria McKinney) deal with marriage issues (10 p.m. TBS). A second new episode follows at 10:30.


Hockey: The Ducks visit the Calgary Flames (6:30 p.m. FSN). 

Pro basketball: The Dallas Mavericks visit the Clippers (7:30 p.m. FS Prime).
