American Idol: The 11 finalists perform classic Motown songs in a new two-hour episode (8 p.m. Fox).

Throwdown With Bobby Flay: Chef Bobby Flay hopes he makes a better key lime pie than key lime pie gurus Jim Brush and Alison Sloat (8:30 p.m. Food).

Nova: This new episode examines how the telescope has evolved from the simple spyglass used by Galileo into sometimes enormous pieces of equipment perched on mountains, circling the Earth and even orbiting other planets (9 p.m. KOCE).

Ghost Hunters: Maddie, the ghost-hunting dog, makes her debut in this new episode (9 p.m. Syfy).

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior: Sam (Forest Whitaker) and company track a serial killer who travels around the country kidnapping people and killing them by hanging. Elmarie Wendel guest stars in this new episode (10 p.m. CBS).

Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files: In the season premiere, the team visits the Queen Mary and re-creates a famous photo from a 1942 air raid in Los Angeles (10 p.m. Syfy).

Journey to the Earth’s Core: This new two-hour special takes viewers on an armchair trip to the heart of the Earth, with all kinds of interesting sights along the way, including mines the size of cities and trees that force their roots through 400 feet of solid rock (9 p.m. History).
