America's Next Top Model: The models spend a day getting makeovers with hair stylist Laurent D and photographer Troy Jensen in this new episode (8 p.m. KTLA). 

American Idol: The finalists perform live for the first time (8 p.m. Fox). 

Underwater Universe: Researchers study rogue waves, tsunamis and monster breakers to determine what makes them unique and how each is born (9 p.m. History). A second new episode, “Predators of the Deep,” follows at 10.
