Shrieks and 'Glee' (and some spoilers) at PaleyFest

March 17, 2011 |  8:57 am

Glee2 A screamapalooza  -- under the guise of the “Glee” panel -- took place as part of PaleyFest on Wednesday night at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills. Better put in your earplugs. The shrieks are still reverberating.

It was a Gleek dream come true as the cast and crew of the hit Fox show -- sans Lea Michele, who was busy filming with Ashton Kutcher on the set of “New Year’s Eve” -- appeared before their kingdom of devotees to discuss the show.

In our unscientific study of “What Makes a Gleek Scream,” we discovered just about anything can cause a high-pitched cry. Among them:

-- Simply mentioning to them that they’re about to rewatch Tuesday’s episode, "Original Song." Shriek.

-- The epic kiss between Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss). SHRIEK. SHRIEK. SHRIEK. SHRIEK. SHRIEK. SHRIEK!

-- Learning that Vocal Adrenaline and Charice will be returning. Shrieeeek.

Glee -- Hearing co-creator Ryan Murphy disclose that an entire episode will be dedicated to the music of Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumours.” SHRIEK.

-- When Matthew Morrison referred to his friend downstairs as his “man love.” Shriek. Shriek. Shrieeeek.

-- Chris Colfer unintentionally spoiling the fact that he would be returning to New Directions. SHHHHHHRIIIIEEEEKKK. And GASP! “Oh, come on," he said. "Like you didn’t know!”

-- Naya Rivera (Santana) confessing that she hopes Santana ends up with Brittany (Heather Morris). Yay! Brittany! Shriek!

-- Mention of Kristen Chenoweth returning … and singing a song entitled, “It’s 10 a.m. and I’m Drunk.” SHRIEK!

And when it all ended, audience members didn’t go home and sip on some hot tea to soothe their vocal cords. Nope. It was time for the cardio portion of the night.

A stampede to the stage commenced.
