'Shameless' with William H. Macy wraps up season as Showtime's No. 3 series

Shameless "Shameless" acquitted itself honorably in its Sunday season finale. Showtime's dark family series starring William H. Macy delivered 1.2 million total viewers, according to the Nielsen Co.

That's Showtime's biggest Season 1 closer since "Queer as Folk" in 2001. The 10 p.m. finale also marked the best-ever numbers for "Shameless," which premiered to 982,000 viewers.

"Shameless" is now Showtime's No. 3 series, behind "Dexter" and "Weeds."

Meanwhile, the Season 4 finale of "Californication" at 9 p.m. drew 547,000 viewers. The dark comedy starring David Duchovny as an oversexed writer was down 7% for the season, but last year it was paired with "Dexter," the cable outlet's No. 1 show.

All i can say is the show is Shameless! And i love cant wait for next season

I absolutely love this show! The writing is brilliant and the characters are awesome! I can't say enough good things about this show.

Great show. Glad to see it building an audience.

I LOVE THIS SHOW ...I CANT WAIT A YEAR..ITS TO LONG..

Shameless is an excellent show. Fast paced and certainly not worried about offending anyone. The Gallaghers are very believable and i can't wait for their return next season.

Love it. William H. Macy is a total love to hate character. Although not in the same circumstances, I find the chaos and family loyalty of the Gallaghers very easy to relate to. Literally these characters are shameless...and well played. Can't wait from next season.

How dissapointed to find out that was the season end the hard way sat down got all comfy and no shameless (my favorite show)
