Save the date! The earsplitting shouting of celebrity guests’ names, the shilling of ‘favorite things,’ and the inspirational stories are drawing to a close: the final original episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” will air May 25.
We all knew the day would come. Winfrey broke the news that the show would end after 25 years to her faithful viewers back in 2009. And Winfrey’s Harpo Productions confirmed the final date Friday.
But, don’t worry, she’s sure to go out with a bang: Thursday she tweeted she was “hard at work planning the final shows -- can’t wait to share w/u all!”
New episodes are slated to begin April 7. If that simply won’t do, viewers can catch the daytime queen on ‘Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes’ Sunday nights on her newly launched cable channel OWN.
