Viral star Rebecca Black says she's not 'the worst singer,' is working on new single

Black It’s Friday, Friday! And online sensation Rebecca Black made use of the glorious day to tell “Good Morning America” that she had “Bieber fever” and that it would “make my life” to record a duet with the teen heartthrob. Fun! Fun! Fun! (A word of advice, Biebs: It might be time to reconsider your ban on saying “never.”)

The eighth-grader has become a viral star since her video for “Friday” was posted -- appropriately -- last Friday on Comedy Central’s "Tosh .0” blog under the headline “Songwriting Isn’t For Everyone.” And an Internet queen/punchline was born as the song, produced by Ark Music Factory, made its rounds on Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc. So far it has garnered nearly 17 million views on YouTube.

And not because it was good, but because it was so awesomely bad.

“It doesn’t bother me,” Black said in the interview, and later shared some of the meanest comments she’s received.

So does she think she’s a good singer?

“I think I have talent on some level,” she said. “I don’t think I’m the worst singer … but I don’t think I’m the best singer.”

Talent notwithstanding, Black is certainly making her mark. As of midday Friday, “Friday," was No. 31 on the Top 100 songs chart on iTunes, while Justin Bieber was at No. 33 with “Never Say Never.”

And it seems this is only the beginning of her singing efforts.

"We're currently writing another song," she tweeted Friday. "It does not have to do with weekdays, or months, or numbers or colors. Throwin' that out there."

ShowTrackers, what do you think of Rebecca Black?

Well, this bit of info might make a difference: the only reason the video has so many views is because people are telling others how bad the video is, and they have to see it to see if it's really that bad. So, the views aren't a good thing. Everyone is watching it to make fun of it.

Oops, I guess I missed the part where you said that. :)

She is good, good, GOOD!
It's a pop song!
It is for dancing and singing to!
Geddit?
It's a GREAT POP SONG.
A CLASSIC.

i just watched the video. it's not so bad...i mean, she's just a kid trying to have fun. now people who dont want to hear about her anymore keep pushing her further and further into the spotlight. good job!

Rebecca if you read this…
People can be jerks; don’t let them get to you. I’ve never been in your position, however, I have been bullied and made fun of and I know that doesn’t feel too hot. At our age a lot of kids are like mindless goats, each following the next goat over, that is to say if one idiot "hated" your song their friend will think the same and when they see the video they will have that bias. We give into peer pressure almost too easily but it’s great that you are doing your own thing and it looked like you were having fun. You are a unique person, in the good way, and I hope you get your duet with Justin. And remember that what doesn’t kill you helps you grow, or something like that : )

Rebecca Black is a musical genius! I, for one, cannot wait for her next single. Sheer brilliance!!!! I see that some of the wanabe’s out there are jealous though….. how very sad.

found this video of her dancing before she was famous!!

The music coming out nowadays is so bad, but at least there will be another humiliating "piece" to entertain my disgust.

I, for one, appreciate Rebecca Black. But only because her song caused Stephen Colbert and Conan O'Brien to create such awesome parodies.

Hmm, Alana Lee at 3:18. So they actually get all the singers together as a group... they not only get their own crappy songs, but get to be part of the backup for everyone else's too!
