'Body of Proof' with Dana Delany gets winning evidence in first outing

Dana This post has been corrected. See the note below for details.

"Body of Proof," ABC's long-delayed medical drama starring Dana Delany, made an impressive debut Tuesday, outdistancing veteran rivals "The Good Wife" and "Parenthood."

Though the 10 p.m. drama only held 70% of the audience from "Dancing With the Stars," its ratings were 84% above "V," which occupied the time slot a year ago. It was also the second-highest-rated season premiere of the 2010-2011 season, coming in behind last September's debut of CBS' "Hawaii Five-0."

[For the record, 2:55 p.m.: The original post misspelled Delany's name and has been corrected.]

i loved the premiere of ''body of proof'' i have been looking forward to it since i first saw the previews for it and it completly lived up to my expectations and then some im lovin me some dana delaney and her new show!!!!!!!!!

Well, I watched the first episode hopefully (like a lot of others), but will we watch the second one? No.
It is in the "Quincy, ME" to "Bones" lineage with DD left to play a cardboard cut-out because of uninteresting writing and plot.

great show ! I cant wait for the next episode

Body of Proof's premiere was 60% higher than V's entire season average. Its season premiere was only 32% higher than V's season premiere. And, in the same night last year, V scored EXACTLY THE SAME AS BODY OF PROOF, somewhere between a 3.0 and a 3.1 (depending on the quarter of the hour).

It's fine if you use statistics, but make sure to use the correct ones. So as to clarify, the numbers that I've used are for the 18-49 demo, which, more than 90% of the time, is the demo used when determining a show's success.

So, yes, Body of Proof is so far on par with V from last year. We'll soon have more data points. I'm guessing it'll drop to mid 2s very soon, where it'll slowly drift to low 2s, just like V did last year. I also suspect it'll get renewed, but I'm guessing V will, too.

I'm watching the April 3rd episode. The opening scene is a murder staged in Camden, NJ. The show states that the murder occurred in Philadelphia. This was the first time I watched the show and immediately found fault. Does the director really think the viewing audience didn't notice. It's rather insulting to us.

Why in the world would they have Delaney's long hair hanging down over a dead body (4/5/11 episode)? How about some nice long red hairs to contaminate the autopsy? Not very realistic at all. Won't be watching this, you lost me.

Watched 4/19/2011 episode. Quite dissapointed. Have admired Dana since China Beach. This is not her best work. Could be due to the quality of the script which seemed poor and contrived. The comic relief characters were cartoonish at best. Perhaps it will get better, but it will be a while before I watch it again. Good luck Dana, you can do better, much better.
