Did Paris Hilton say 'I can't stand black guys' in new book? [Updated]

Paris Paris Hilton has a new reality show this summer on Oxygen titled "The World According To Paris" and focusing on her daily whirlwind life. But Hilton sparks controversy, and a new book may turn the heat up.

"Everyone Loves You When You're Dead: Journeys Into Fame and Madness" by pop culture journalist Neil Strauss contains an encounter where Strauss quotes the heiresss as saying, "I can't stand black guys. I would never touch one. It's gross."

Portions of the interview, which Strauss said took place in 1999 when he was partying with Hilton, have been posted on several websites, including Gawker and LA Weekly.

Strauss said he was discussing several subjects with Hilton when she started talking about a guy she had been out with the previous evening.

Pointing to an unnamed actor in "Saving Private Ryan," Hilton was quoted as saying, "We were making out, but then we went somewhere where it was bright and I saw that he was black and made an excuse and left. I can't stand black guys. I would never touch one. It's gross."

When Strauss asked Hilton, "How black does a guy have to be?" he quotes her response, "One percent is enough for me."

Executives for Oxygen, which is owned by NBC-Universal, and representatives for Hilton were not immediately available for comment.

[Updated at 10:45 p.m.] Spokespersons for Paris Hilton said in a statement: "These allegations are absolutely untrue and ridiculous. We have sent these claims to Miss Hilton's lawyers to respond further. It's another example of someone making false claims for financial gain."

So? Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

When you can't make the news, make it up!!! Who really cares LA Times....why print something that has not been proven....oh wait, its the LA Liars.'

If it is true, well those are her personal feelings that she has a right to be honest about, not knowing they'd be published for goodness sakes. We all need to focus on what's "Morally Correct," not what's considered "Politically Correct.' We each have our own personally freedoms to express how we feel. By the way, I feel races of colors should be kept separate in dating, and marriage.

She is beautiful - and I agree with her -

Man she's dumb. I don't see how anyone would want this scrawny, anorexic, ugly cave woman anyway. I still wish Mandingo could get a hold of her though. Paris vs. Mandingo! Now that would be an internet fiasco!

I'm no fan of this gal, but glad to hear that . Miscegenation is a scourge against all races.

Half the world goes to bed hungry, the other half is ready to explode with wars, earthquakes and other natural disasters...honesty, who really gives a crap about Paris Hilton? If she really wanted controversy...she should pour half of her millions to rescue the world that goes to bed hungry every night...the kitchen left overs from one of her bashes would be just fine.

Ok...so while Paris Hilton is the brightest crayon in the box, she does know how to get attention when she isnt getting any. C'mon you guys....snoop dogg is one of this cocked eyed beauty"s really good friend. Not to mention she made a movie with a really greasy blk dude...as his hands on touchy feely girlfriend. i am a black girl and should be angry with her....but i dont think she meant it to be harmful. i think the writer took this story out context. nichole richie was in fact her best friend. and her dad is super negro with them lips. you think growing up best friends with that chick and being at her house would make her grow up to be a biggot....i dont think so. damn< i'm like all over the place with my writing!

Paris, your former bff Nichole Richie is black. So not only do you fail at reality
tv, but now you also fail at racism. All this I can forgive. But not knowing what
a Wal-mart is... Seriously how does one live in the US and NOT KNOW WHAT WAL-MART IS!!??

Unforgivable.

Who cares, she is free to be attracted to whoever she likes. Kanye West said he preferred 'Mutt's'. It's a free country. Attraction isn't a moral issue.

So what, Muhammed Ali commented that some of the African women he met needed some more white blood in them. People are free to be attracted to whoever they please.

Paris Hilton is UGLY !!!!!

It's AMAZING how the medis falls over itself to plaster this social dingbat all over the place. She is a waste of space...

My own kids say stuff like that all the time about me, they also say they hate this or hate that. It's a part of growing up, which is what I wish some of you who comment would do. Teenagers are feeling out their bounders, they want to know how far they can go before someone tells them they are out of line. We all do it in different ways, it's not a racial thing it's a people thing. Japan is dumping radioactive contamination into the water that will effect the whole planet for century's to come and your worried about what a teenager said years ago?

There's something about this gal I don't like...I can't put my finger on it ....oh yeah, it's that ski-nose she has!

Why should she NOT? People who are like us appeal to many. We associate with those with whom we have similar likes and dislikes. Of course the "gliterei" exhibit their own modes of behavior.

Yes Ms. Paris Hilton,

has a right to say what is on her mind and how she feels, but before putting her statements out to the public, she needs to proof read exactly what she say first. She stated that she would never touch a black man, yet she was somewhere's making out with one, ok that statement rubbed me the wrong way, now my question to Ms. Hilton, did you not know that this man was black before you started makiing out with him, what was you problem? were you under the influence of something, to not know.Remember that GOD made us all and when we cut open the skin, we bleed the same color blood, and what if by chance you needed a blood transfusion, who is to say it did not come from a black man or woman, what is it with all of the hate against black people in general. Keep in mind that your money cannot but happiness, love, or life, I wish you the best of luck, and you better hope that you nevr get into a predicament where you need help because it is a matter of life or death, and there is only a black man there to help you and he must touch you in order to save you, what then Ms Paris Hilton what then, I pray for you.

I'm a black guy. I'm not offended at all, although the way she said it was pretty stupid. As a black guy, I know I'm not everyone's cup of tea. Who cares. I dated plenty of women of all races when I was younger, so nothing bothers me. Currently, I am married to a Latina because I think Latinas are hot. I don't know why that is; it just happened that way. When I was younger, I tried to get into black women, but it just wasn't happening. I don't find black women or white women attractive, in general, although there are always exceptions. Culturally, I can't stand Asian women. Maybe that sounds racist, but it's true, and I have my reasons. But who cares, I already know plenty of women of all races hate black men for any number of reasons. There's nothing I can, or will, do about it. So, keep living, find happiness however you can, and then die. Don't sweat the small stuff.

The tone and manner of her remark sounds more of race hate than dating preference.I think she made a racially "white-correct" remark. Well, I must have read similar comments in public toilets. Now thanks to Paris as celebrity's remarks they can as well be written in a logo for public display. It is okey to be politically incorrect, morally incorrect as long as it is part of a free speech, or precisely as long as it selectively hurts the black race and is a racially white correct remark. The transcedental comment she laboured to make looks like that she meant to inflict as much harm to a race called black as she thinks she should. This is pure hatred. when i see the jerky remarks she makes in her programs and when she begs hard to be a real comedian with all that wannbe acts that fall short of any ordinary talent. And when all these are excused because they came out of a white skin and she is applauded by the overly white crowd, i say to myself it is some times safe to be hopeless than beg to be hopeful. .

She said this 12 years ago? WHO THE HELL CARES?

She also said people should't drink Diet Coke because fat people drink Diet Coke.
Stop feeding her and she will go away.
