Did Paris Hilton say 'I can't stand black guys' in new book? [Updated]

Paris Paris Hilton has a new reality show this summer on Oxygen titled "The World According To Paris" and focusing on her daily whirlwind life. But Hilton sparks controversy, and a new book may turn the heat up.

"Everyone Loves You When You're Dead: Journeys Into Fame and Madness" by pop culture journalist Neil Strauss contains an encounter where Strauss quotes the heiresss as saying, "I can't stand black guys. I would never touch one. It's gross."

Portions of the interview, which Strauss said took place in 1999 when he was partying with Hilton, have been posted on several websites, including Gawker and LA Weekly.

Strauss said he was discussing several subjects with Hilton when she started talking about a guy she had been out with the previous evening.

Pointing to an unnamed actor in "Saving Private Ryan," Hilton was quoted as saying, "We were making out, but then we went somewhere where it was bright and I saw that he was black and made an excuse and left. I can't stand black guys. I would never touch one. It's gross."

When Strauss asked Hilton, "How black does a guy have to be?" he quotes her response, "One percent is enough for me."

Executives for Oxygen, which is owned by NBC-Universal, and representatives for Hilton were not immediately available for comment.

[Updated at 10:45 p.m.] Spokespersons for Paris Hilton said in a statement: "These allegations are absolutely untrue and ridiculous. We have sent these claims to Miss Hilton's lawyers to respond further. It's another example of someone making false claims for financial gain."

she's taking a cheap shot at the kardashians.

maybe a little jealous of the $65 million they earned last year.

Hey -- she has a right to her likes and dislikes just like everyone else. She's just being honest...

So sorry to hear this but I am not that surprised.

Can this finally prove that this air head, supported by dad's and mom's money, has nothing to say, of interest? She is a living prof of the need for an increase in inheritance tax.

Are we still here? Are we still doing this? Are we still investing time and effort as well as key strokes on this personality? She is was and always willbe a schmuck so for her to reinforce these things we already know about this matter should be closed sealed and sent to the dark recesses of Paris's vacant little brain pan.

This is nothing more than a ploy to sell a worthless book. I have seen Paris with and very much enjoying the company, touchy-feeling side of Black men, especially Black male rappers. She seems to glow when disrespected.

The same Paris Hiltoon in a photo cheek to cheek with 50 Cent? Ok. Right.

Of course she said it. Thats why her and nicole fell out because she said something racist and nicole has black in her

Just cause of this statement i HATE paris hilton and wont ever watch or read anything about her and never sleep at a hilton..how can u say something like that we are all human at the end of the day..... and u wanted to go to rwnada on a missionary trip stay in L.A they dont wanna see u there.

This is news? Oh, like, fer real. I'm saddened and shocked that someone so intelligent and who is such a role model would say this. I think I'm going to kill myself now.

For Paris to feel that way she must have been doing some great acting in the WAX movie. I cant think of the name of the movie, but her boyfriend was the black dude from this black sitcom and boy o boy were they getting it on. and she made records with triple six mafia, which really are gross black men lol... so my opinoin is false she didnt say that paris is to broad a thinker.

now hold on a second.
do not read the statement as it is printed. read it as how paris hilton would say it.

cha ching. light bulb.
she like totally said it. but its like totally ok because when put into a parisism (paris ism) it does not have the same meaning as it does in print!

------
and on a side note:
the author 'partied' with hilton 12 years ago. and while 'partying', was he or she under the influence slurring words or hearing only the excerpts a drunk wants to hear like we all do? was there a lot of noise (such as a pounding bass beat of a dj) that could have caused things to be wrongly heard or parts completely missed? were other people nearby in a crowd talking to each other which could lead to voices being heard that were not hers making half her sentence and half someone else?

all of the above posted 'reasonable doubts' do not matter, because i think she said it but that it looks worse in print.

I know, from now on every one has to date someone of a differenct race other than their own at least once in every five dates. San Francisco is working on a bill that requires any couple who files for a marriage license that is not a biracial couple to provide proof that they have gone out with someone from a different race at least 25% of the time within five years of applying for a marriage license. God bless them, after all, we don't want to be acused of being a racist.

LOL didnt she touch one
in the House of Wax ???

I guess it's only offscreen....anybody see the movie House Of Wax?Didn't appear she had a problem making out with a blackman then, her boyfriend was black in the movie!!

God forbid anyone share their opinion these days..

Now everyone is going to call her racist for something she is entitled to believe. Why can't you people just leave her alone, and let her live her life the way she wants?

It's not racism. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Stop criticizing her based on what another critic says about her.

I'm black and I'm not mad at Paris for stating her preference. The great thing about this world is what someone else thinks is "gross" another person thinks is "hot." As a black person, I don't find whites or asians attractive, but I do find blacks and hispanics attractive. To each his own. At least she admitted it instead of trying to pretend like a lot of white people do.

why are we not getting mad over this ?

The best part of the story is that she was "making out" with someone she didn't know well enough thaat she couldn't tell his skin color until they went into the light- now that's SELECTVITY!
