Fox renews ‘Fringe’ for Season Four
The Friday night Death Slot can’t kill "Fringe." Fox announced the dimension-bending sci-fi series will return next year for a fourth season.
The future of "Fringe" has been in question since Fox pulled it out of the battle for Thursday night and dropped it into Fridays at 9 p.m. -- also known as the Friday night Death Slot since it has led to the cancellation of many Fox sci-fi programs before it. The "Fringe" fan base followed the show’s move, helping "Fringe" fair better in the traditionally smaller Friday night television audience.
"Fringe" is the brainchild of "Transformers" writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman along with "Star Trek" director J.J. Abrams (who also composed the "Fringe" theme music). For the last two season "Fringe" has been under the guidance of executive producers J.H. Wyman, Jeff Pinkner and Akiva Goldsman, and the show has managed appearances from sci-fi greats such as Leonard Nimoy, Christopher Lloyd, Peter Weller and Jorge Garcia.
Now with a fourth season, "Fringe" can continue its Sudoku-style storytelling. Walter, Olivia and Peter can go on to break apart all kinds of parallel universes, and we might find out what exactly the Observers are trying to observe.

Thank you to Fox for renewing this amazing show. I will continue doing everything I can to support this show both because I love it and because it is a true creative achievement for a show to be as good as Fringe is.
I hope they can draw new viewers and get the ratings up. I just know there are many people out there who would love the show and be just as devoted to it as I am, if they had a chance to see how great it is.
Also, I have to compliment the internet TV critics for all the supportive commentary about Fringe. It truly did deserve this. Congratulations to Fringe!

I can finally get a good night's rest. Christmas came early, with a full season! jic, they may want to start working on the First People and/or The Observer stories in case Fox has a change of heart like we saw with Dollhouse.

Great news! Fringe has become one of the better written and acted shows on television - it's truly superior fare, and I thank Fox for sticking by the show.

Great news indeed. IMO, Bones should have been moved not Fringe.

"helping 'Fringe' fair better"?
Andrew, did you take English classes in the alternate universe? Here, we use the word "fare" in that situation.
Still, great news about the show!

I am so relieved that Fringe has been renewed. I can now relax and enjoy the show more (if that's possible). It is my all-time favorite show, and I thank Fox for having the intelligence to renew this very creative, smart show. Thank you!!!
