'All My Children' getting the ax? Help us dream up how our favorite Pine Valley characters make their exit.

Lucci Susan Lucci out of a job after 41 years?? “All My Children” getting yanked?

That’s the buzz after Deadline.com reported Monday that ABC was looking to reduce its daytime drama lineup from three to two hours, with “All My Children” as the likely victim due to flailing ratings.

But what about our favorite Pine Valley characters?! Well, they’ll be replaced with a new talk show, according to Deadline.

Should the daytime drama, which launched in 1970, be headed for doomsville, it will join three other canned soaps: CBS’ “The Guiding Light” and "As the World Turns” and NBC’s “Passions.”

Talk of “All My Children’s” end is nothing new. Reports surfaced in 2009 that the 41-year-old soap narrowly escaped cancellation — which the network denied at the time.

And the network is once again downplaying the rumors.

When Show Tracker reached out to the network about whether the recent rumors of cancellation were true, an ABC representative had this to say: “Our response is that the Deadline.com piece is just the latest in a long line of stories about this same topic.”

Um, is that a yes or a no?

Show Trackers, what do you think of the rumors? Are you surprised? If true, how should Erica Kane and the rest of the Pine Valley characters say goodbye?

I have grown up with AMC and as both a stay at home AND full time working Mom I have NEVER missed an episode. Even taped a full week when on vacations. Love the new characters and interesting story lines this program IS my excape from reality TV and the talking heads of day time talk shows.
The show reflect both Camalot as well as some harsh realities of everyday life and the characters display many of the different attitudes we see from the people around us in our own daily lives.
PLEASE SAVE AMC FOR MY GRAND CHILDREN TO WATCH WITH ME!
P.s.......I am the husband.....save AMC so I can have an hour or two for online poker ...PLEASE!......yea....I confess....when the wife watches it at night I do too ;-]

Hello to the Staff of All My Children,
I have been watching All My Children since I can remember and it became at some point apart of my day. Whether I recorded the series or if I was home to watch it. I signed up for cable service were I can see All My children at night since my work schedule has changed. So no I would not like you to go off the air, but what I would like to see is when choosing different scene's and scenario's that you producer and choreographer be more considerate to his viewer. Yesterday's episode almost send me personally into a break down. The scene were Angie baby dies and her husband lie to her okay well it was played out on television but it was actually reality for me an experience that I will never forget and to see the publicized on television brought all of my pain and suffering back and I still have not fully recovered from last night. So please be a little more mindful of reality and fiction. Expressing from the Heart!!!!!!

I am will be very sad to see AMC go. However, the show has been painful to watch. The story lines are stalled and repetitive. There are no cliffhangers which are the mark of good soaps. I certainly hope that something changes, and the show stays on the air with better writing. I feel bad for those actors on the show who are talented and believable. But, in my opinion, the show will probably go off the air. I DO NOT want another reality show or news spot.

i am sick and tired of reality shows they are so" not real", and we we have too much of them. and we have too many talk shows.why does tv have to flood thew air with so much of the same thing!!did anyone ask the soap fans what they think?

I have watched this soap since I was a teenager looking after my ailing Grandmother and I continued long after her death. It is a natural part of my day during my break for lunch. The last thing we need is another talk show or reality show. With AMC off the air the ABC network will be dark in this house.

Could the writers please make evryone happy at last? I'm sure viewers like me have given up because of all the ridiculous twists and turns.
Get rid of Ricky RIGHT AWAY!!!!!
Jack and Erica together.
Ryan and Greenlee together.
Stop developing the stupid Biance/Marissa idea - did I mention your plot lines are usually obvious.
Griffen and Kendall together.
Jake and Cara "
Caleb and Krystal "
Failing that, bring everyone back from the dead a la Bobbie's dream and see what happens. No zombies please.
You could also do a fan favourite

I just can't bare the ending. Such memorable moments like when Greg ran into the chapel and stopped Jenny's wedding. Or when Noah got shot (the music that was played was so perfect). Or when Dixie and (can't remember his name) danced to "When a Man Loves a Woman", such a good dance, when Haley and Mateo kissed on the beach (I knew that kiss was real!). Or the many big stars that came from the show Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, Josh Duhamel and so many more I can't think of right now I'm so upset about this decision.

ABC, I beg you , along with the other billion fans, Please reconsider. Do we really need another cooking or reality show? Come on, enough is enough already. Let us have our peace. We love our soaps, like many have said before me, we record it, come home from a long day at work and like to sit down and unwind watching our soap. How others deal with life situations and maybe learn a thing or two. It's fantasy, not REALITY.
Thank you

They all gaged to death on their egos.

Big mistake. Obviously, this man (Frons? or whatever his name is) is a rank amateaur. He will be gone, I'm sure, not long after the soaps. To not take into consideration the many dedicated, loyal and appreciative fans out there who have been so very loyal to these wonderful shows and the wonderful actors who NEVER FAIL to deliver to us good stories (even when they aren't as fascinating sometimes as they are other times), fantastic acting, not to mention how very hard they work to memorize so much dialogue in such short periods of time to bring so many of us so much joy for a short time in our day. This is probably the most thoughtless thing I can remember TV doing. And I have been around long enough to remember my mother doing her ironing and listening to the soaps on the radio. I grew up with them and it's a habit I love. I have cable. That gives me plenty of food, lifestyle programs, etc. No wonder the networks are in the toilet. Perhaps they need to take a closer look at the "empty suits" running things with their blinders on. I never say things I don't mean. ABC will never again be turned on on my television beginning with the first day after All My Children leaves us in September. Good luck all of you. Your days are numbered as well. I will also forego Nightline. It's been pretty crappy lately as well. In fact, no network television comes even close to FOX and other cable channels. Bye, Bye ABC. All of the wonderful people at All My Children will survive. ABC will not!!!

thats dumb canceling all my childern i just wont watch what they put in its place

PLEASE DON'T CANCEL AMC AND OLTL THAT WOULD BE A DISASTER my mom to got me hooked on the soap operas and it would be so depressing not being able to come home from work and watch it my mom has been watching it since the beginning and now she has threatened to have soap net taken off her tv as soon as the programs go off air, we both love these programs and no matter if you miss a program or 2 u can always catch up on whats going on it is such an awesome program that would be a disaster if taken off air. So what can be done to keep them on air are they still gonna be on antenna television or just completely taken off air?;-(

DO NOT TAKE THIS OFF!!!! RECONSIDER

I've watched AMC since I was a teenager ( with my mom , who filled me in after school ) . Now I watch it daily and if I'm not able to see it I record it.What are you going to replace it with ? ( a new talk show ? ) . Please do not take AMC off the air .

To the president of Walt Disney. What are you thinking?Who in their right mind would give up the soaps for a cooking show. Why would put a cooking show in the place of Emmy Award winning shows, like AMT&OLTL.Sometimes the writers don"t write whatI like,But that don"t mean that I want the show to leave ABC. What are we supposed to look at.I hate cooking shows that are on now.You are keeping GH on,But AMT&OLTL is better. That is sad that you are taking them off.Not all of the people want the show to leave .Are you sure it"s not the producers that want the shows gone. Please keep them!!!

Why Would ABC make such a foolish move in cancelling not one but two daytime soaps? I have been a huge fan of AMC and OLTL since they started? Another talk show? When is the insanity of Realty and Talk Show mania going to end?

STOP with the stupid reality, doctor and court shows. Keep AMC & OLTL. They are a much better choice then the alternatives ABC has.
