'All My Children' getting the ax? Help us dream up how our favorite Pine Valley characters make their exit.
Susan Lucci out of a job after 41 years?? “All My Children” getting yanked?
That’s the buzz after Deadline.com reported Monday that ABC was looking to reduce its daytime drama lineup from three to two hours, with “All My Children” as the likely victim due to flailing ratings.
But what about our favorite Pine Valley characters?! Well, they’ll be replaced with a new talk show, according to Deadline.
Should the daytime drama, which launched in 1970, be headed for doomsville, it will join three other canned soaps: CBS’ “The Guiding Light” and "As the World Turns” and NBC’s “Passions.”
Talk of “All My Children’s” end is nothing new. Reports surfaced in 2009 that the 41-year-old soap narrowly escaped cancellation — which the network denied at the time.
And the network is once again downplaying the rumors.
When Show Tracker reached out to the network about whether the recent rumors of cancellation were true, an ABC representative had this to say: “Our response is that the Deadline.com piece is just the latest in a long line of stories about this same topic.”
Um, is that a yes or a no?
Show Trackers, what do you think of the rumors? Are you surprised? If true, how should Erica Kane and the rest of the Pine Valley characters say goodbye?

Oh plllleeeeaaasssseeee az OLTL first. Between AMC, that one, and GH...OLTL is by far the worst...the cheesiest!!! Ya know, do factor in that although many of us work and don't watch the original air...we are catching up by watching AMC and GH online and also on channels like SoapNet where you can watch later at night, weee hours of the morning, or early the next morning. We all still need a little soap opera in our lives. Do we really need more court TV or talk shows...um, NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Keep AMC...Keep AMC...KEEP AMC!!!!!!!!!

THEIR IS NO SOAP OPERA THAT EVEN COMPARES TO THE 1960s SOAP "DARK SHADOWS"! THE GREATEST SOAP OPERA OF THEM ALL! THE ONLY ONE EVER TO HAVE MOVIES MADE FROM IT!

What??? Cancel All My Children???? Tell me it is not so. I have been watching AMC since High School, I am addicted to all the goings on. Everyone in my family knows to leave me alone on Sunday afternoon when I watch all the week's episodes on Hulu.com. Surely we can live without another inane talk show hosted by aged boring has-been actresses or (gag) a "reality show". Please do not take away my long standing tradition to hang out with the gang from Pine Valley.

I'll be most disappointed if All My Children is cancelled. I started with the first showing in '70 and followed through with each show. At noon everyday I prepared to feed my new baby & watch the program I never failed to feed James on time Thank you All My Children. All My Children brings back many happy times in real life as in the TV lives of all Pine Valley.
Please do not cancel the Icon of all soap operas. Pine Valley I'll miss you if this is true.

OH PLEASE !!Say it is not true !! I heard the horrific news this morning. I have watched AMC for 41 yrs. I feel as bad as if someone has died. AMC has been apart of my life for so long. My granddaughter's name is ERICA, HMMM! Wonder where that came from??? I have a DVR only to record AMC. What am I going to do to get into a good mood or relax at night? I watch AMC so I know my problems are not so bad compared to Pine Valley people. Seriously somebody needs to do something so this does not really happen. What can we do to stop this??
Thank You,
Kathy C.

It will be a sad, sad day when AMC leaves the airwaves. I mean, I've been watching since '72 when I was 10yrs. old. I can't believe this is because of talk shows and reality programs which mind you, I find quite boring. I like entertainment not bad manners brought on by people who have a bad sense of style. What it really boils down to is ratings and money. You know ABC moved the cast and some of the sets to La in hoping to save money in set storage to give the show the ability to grow. However, it looks to me ABC hasn't really invested much more since the move in sets. I mean today when I watched the show there was one scene when Krystal is discussing how Cara would like her to move back in Tad's house. Now, number one, that makes no sense to me at all. What it looks like is because there isn't a set or a home for Krystal to live in b/c maybe no money to build one. And so the writers are writting around what sets they have to work with... I mean, come on guys or ABC, invest some money into the show so the writers can write according to the characters. Not what sets they have to work with. Another example is Cara and Tad getting married in Tad's living room. It just looked kind of cheesy. There used to be a church set in the past. I'm already wondering where Erica's and Jackson wedding will be set on. Also, AMC your bantering too long on some storylines... This thing with the Reverend and that sidekick woman whose killed Zack. There needs to be more substance to the story and get rid of him. Isn't he the guy from the State Farm Insur. commercials? Anyway, get someone more attractive and deviant acting. Also, your gonna need to kill off a few... Starting with JR., or do something with his character. And David. Omg, you've killed him off 3 times and you keep bringing him back. Ok, if your gonna bring someone back, bing someone back whose character evolves. But his, never does and its very boring. He has slept with every woman on the show except Opal and Colby and as far as I' concerned his character is used up. Also, you gotta do something with Erica's character again. She's too predictable now and the writting shows it. Have Bianca meet up with a butch lesbian where she can fall in love and turn that into plot. And the Ryan, Greenlee and Kendle 3 way thing is getting very old. One of them has got to go. It just seems that none of these characters are evolving at all and that is what keeps a show going. I'm just saying

No way..that can't do that! It's such a part of my life! I just can't imagine it!

if ALL MY CHILDREN is cancelled the medical supply company will go out of business because i bet they use 1000s of dollars each month on the people in pine valley

I love all my Children, but lately the writing has not been very good, is it just me
or is everybody is tried of Ryan having children. The storyline of Jake's ex no, we miss Adam, a better storyline would have been Mason having Frankie's baby
Ryan and Greenly and K find out who kill Zach. I like the storyline with Ricky, but he should be a real Pastor and him and Griff battle for K love.
Cat fight with Erica & Cyrthal over Jack's kiss to her, but I would like to see Jack and Erica get marry. Have more if they want to call me.

OMG....................DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!! I have watched AMC for 30 years and IT'S THE ONLY SOAP I WATCH! I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IT!!!!!
ABC needs to reconsider..........there WILL be alot of VERY ANGRY women
in this world and IF they think they have failing ratings now...........if u take
it off the air...........I WILL DEFINITELY NEVER WATCH ABC Again! If
ABC needs to make cuts, don't start with AMC there are alot of other bad talk shows on the air and also stupid court shows "Judge"? There is plenty of places to do cuts and its NOT with AMC! Take a survey, u will see u r making
a BIG MISTAKE! Then u will SEE LOST RATINGS!!!!! DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive watched AMC since the start, they just need to write more plots. They could have Jackson call off the wedding instead of Erica...Bring back Adam with Brook.Have Biaca fall for Marrissa? That be agood one...Joy DiRienzo
