This Old House Hour: The cast and crew of the home improvement franchise get an education in building on a hillside in an earthquake zone as their visit to Los Angeles continues (7 p.m. KOCE).

The Vampire Diaries: Johnathan Gilbert’s (David Anders) return to Mystic Falls doesn’t thrill Elena, Jenna and Damon (Nina Dobrev, Sara Canning, Ian Somerhalder) in this new episode (8 p.m. KTLA).

American Idol: The auditions continue (8 p.m. Fox).

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: While researching a murder at a school for the deaf, Sara (Jorja Fox) discovers that one of the professors (Marlee Matlin) had an intimate relationship with her husband, Gil Grissom, several years ago in this new episode (9 p.m. CBS).

Million Dollar Listing: Josh Flagg and Madison Hildebrand are joined by native Bostonian Josh Altman in the season premiere episode title, ominously, “Bad Market for Mansions” (9 p.m. Bravo).

Beyond Scared Straight: This new episode sends six teenagers to Lieber Correctional Facility in South Carolina (10 p.m. A&E).

Brad Meltzer’s Decoded: The season finale, “Apocalypse in Georgia,” revolves around the mysterious Georgia Guidestones, often called America’s Stonehenge, located outside Atlanta (10 p.m. History).

SPORTS

College basketball: Arizona State at California (8 p.m. FS Prime).

Pro basketball: The San Antonio Spurs visit the Lakers (7:30 p.m. TNT).
