The Oscars on TV this weekend

For those who just can't wait until the Feb. 27 Oscar telecast and can't get enough of Amy, Christian, Colin, Annette, Geoffrey, Hailee, Javier, Helena, Jeff, Jennifer, Jesse and all the rest, listed below are some highlights of movies, series, talk shows and other programs related to the Oscars, airing between now and Oscar night.

“Entertainment Tonight” Friday, 7 p.m. CBS (TVPG)  Actors James Franco and Anne Hathaway; actors Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis. (N)

“Movie: Zombieland” *** (2009) Friday, 8:31 p.m. Starz (R) Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg. Survivors of a zombie apocalypse use creative means to dispatch the undead as they make their way toward a rumored safe haven in Los Angeles.


“Academy Awards: Iconic Stars, Legendary Fashions” Friday, 9 p.m. TV Guide (TVPG) Fashion often creates more buzz than the Oscars themselves.

“Movie: Public Enemies” *** (2009) Saturday, 2:35 p.m. Cinemax (R) Johnny Depp, Christian Bale. Depression-era outlaw John Dillinger becomes the fledgling FBI's most-wanted criminal and a folk hero to much of America's downtrodden public.


“James Franco: Hollywood Rebel” Saturday, 3:30 p.m. TV Guide (TVPG) An in depth look at the roles and adventures of 2011 Oscar co-host, actor James Franco.

“Movie: 3:10 to Yuma” *** (2007) Sat/Sun, 3:30 a.m. and Sunday, Noon TNT (R) Russell Crowe, Christian Bale. A rancher and the captive outlaw in his charge learn to respect each other on a dangerous journey to catch a train.
