Ah, the life of a royal couple. They get commemorative engagement coins (note: no one looks attractive when embossed on a coin) and their courtship becomes the basis of magazine fodder, TLC specials … and now a Lifetime movie.

The network announced Wednesday that their original movie “William & Kate” will make its regal premiere April 18.

Nico Evers-Swindell (“NCIS: Los Angeles’) will star as Prince William and Camilla Luddington (“CSI”) will star as Kate Middleton. Maybe sharing the first name of Prince Charles’ wife is enough to make this a success?

And the hoopla around the epic event won’t end there. Lifetime will also debut the first of six (SIX!) one-hour episodes of the documentary series “Royal Wedding of a Lifetime” following the movie. The series will look at the history of the couple’s romance and, according to the press release, feature “comparison of Kate to Princess Diana.” Oy.

But it’s not likely to be the last of the TV specials, given what’s already come out. TLC ran a special, “William & Kate: A Royal Love Story,” not long after news broke of their engagement last fall -- and there’s more in store as the nuptials approach. NBC’s “Dateline” devoted an entire hour to the couple in November.

Had enough of all the TV airtime being devoted to the couple? Or do you want more?
