'The Game' scores a ratings touchdown in return on BET
"The Game," a comedy about the women involved with the players on a fictional San Diego football team that was yanked off the CW schedule last year due to poor ratings, staged a triumph Tuesday when it returned with new episodes on BET, scoring the top-rated ad-supported sitcom broadcast in cable history.
The series return attracted 7.7 million total viewers, according to Nielsen Co. The episode also ranked as the second-highest rated broadcast in BET history, behind the 2009 "BET Awards."
Executives at the network decided to resurrect "The Game" when they noticed the popularity of episodes that had previously aired on the CW. The new version of "The Game" features the original cast, including Tia Mowry and Wendy Raquel Robinson.
BET was also celebrating the initial audience reception to "Let's Stay Together," a relationship comedy paired with the game. That series, which has Queen Latifah as one of its executive producers, attracted 4.4 million viewers.
The new comedy block marks BET's most ambitious move into original scripted programming. The cable network targeted to African Americans has specicalized in reality shows, music-related series and music videos.

I have to agree with the past commenters. Sorry, I LOVE the game and was sooo looking forward to a new season, but the characters have changed entirely too much. And I can't say that I didn't see this coming because.. no offense.. the show is now on BET. We have to step it up people. Of course the characters all had strong personalities in previous seasons, but why are they all extra and extremely over the top now? Malik dissing Tee Tee.. Tasha smoking blacks (since when has she ever done that) and Kelly, omg, I was toooo done with her. Please get her off that high horse and this crazy new attitude she has. She's feeling herself too hard. And even Melanie giving the baby a paternity test without his parents consent. I really would love to keep supporting the show, and of course I'm gonna watch just to see what happens but something has to change if BET is hoping for another season.

The Game was the best show two years ago...I think they are trying to put too many twists on it with Derwin and Melanie with the baby is or is not his baby.
Make up ur mind people!!! Come on...people won't watch if u mess up the fluidity of black love and soaps.

No it did not have low ratings on CW but it also did not receive proper promotion.
I did watch and can apperciate the new episode. We have to keep in mind that even with the same writters and producers, the location is now in Atlanta not LA and I'm sure the budget is a little lower than what they had before.
Hope this can be a turning point for BET to go back to putting positive programming back on air( in lieu of degrading reality shows).

I am so glad this show is back on the air! But please listen to your loyal fans and bring the original Brit Brat back on the show. And give Britney Daniel (Kelly Pitts) her original status as a regular cast member and not recurring status role. She brought the "funny"! This is not the Melanie and Derwin show. It's about the entire cast! The original Brit Brat and all!
Bring Back Erica Gluck as Brittany Pitts (Brit Brat) on THE GAME!

The show is absolutely terrible. The camera angles are so bad that the whole thing looks like a high school drama project that got a C- at best. All of the actors and lines are so cheesy and cliche. I'd even go as far as to say that if I never looked up the creator or producer, I would've thought that Tyler Perry had created this show and we all know that Tyler Perry is a terrible writer when it comes to sitcoms. His plays are good, but his movies and television series are just terrible. BET, if you want to get me to watch this stereotypical show, you have to up the production values for it. I mean c'mon! When I first saw this I thought I mistakenly walked into a time machine that took me back to 1997.

I look forward to watching the "The Game" on Tuesday nights. The characters are great except Malik. Please make him a little nicer and not so hard and mean. Keep up the good word BET.
