San Francisco Giants to play ball with Showtime in new show

Champions San Francisco Giants will get a new show to add to their World Series rings.

Showtime is teaming up with Major League Baseball Productions to develop a new, unscripted series about the Giants. The series, which will air during the baseball season, will "chronicle the competitive and complex world of professional baseball," a Showtime executive said.

The makers of the series will follow the team during the off-season, spring training and during the regular season.

Said Showtime President of Entertainment David Nevins: "I'm confident that this group of personalities will make for a provocative and groundbreaking television series that will appeal beyond the hard-core baseball fan to all viewers who appreciate great drama."
