'NCIS' posts its largest audience ever for CBS
There seems to be no stopping the "NCIS" phenomenon. Now in its eighth season, the crime drama keeps getting bigger.
Tuesday night's episode -- the first new one since Dec. 14 -- averaged 21.9 million total viewers, the show's largest audience ever, according to the Nielsen Co.
True, that audience skews old. In viewers age 18 to 49, "NCIS" delivered a 4.5 rating/12 share -- still strong, but not as powerful as the total-viewer figure would lead one to expect.
On Tuesday's episode, Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his investigators looked into the suspicious death of a Marine on a dinner boat cruise.
Are you a fan of Harmon and the "NCIS" team?

I used to LOVE this show, but can't even stand to watch it anymore. They shoot it in such soft focus that everything has a hazy glow. I assume it's to benefit Mark Harmon but it's distracting and ridiculous.

Good show, last night. I'm glad they brought back Diane Neal's character. She's a good complement to Gibbs and there's chemistry, not only with him, but with the rest of the gang. Plus....she's a redhead. I hope they bring her back again.

Unlike Meeghan, I still love this show. I think the cases are still fresh, the characters have grown over the 8 years, and I look forward to the season arc, which I hope has to do with the missing nuclear device in NCIS:LA.
I'm not a big fan of NCIS:LA, but last night's episode was pretty good. If they do a cross episode again, I'm sure to watch both.

Love the show, had not watched it prior to 2009. Have gone back and watched all the previous seasons on USA & Sleuth networks.

I only started watching this program about 3 years ago and fell in LOVE with it. Have watched all previous shows, thanks to USA Network. I LOVE the quirky characters on it. Much better since they killed off Kate and brought in Ziva.

This show is proof that you can be sucessful for many seasons by giving the audience what they want (e.g. keeping the team of Tony, Ziva and McGee instead of bringing in new characters) while keeping it intelligent and funny.
A show I make sure to watch every week.

I have a feeling "Meeghan"'s Tv needs repair-there is nothing wrong with how "NCIS" is shot-it's real, believable yet ripe with humor. And I agree with Brenda-Diane Neal is note perfect in working with Harmon and Co. The ending of last night's show was so bittersweet and touching-the right ending to the best show on TV! Like wine, NCIS just keeps getting better!

OMG...NCIS the best show ever. I agree with everyone's comments and say ditto to all, except Meeghan. This show has so much honor and loyalty, that I will watch FOREVER. Please don't change any of the regulars, but adding some fresh new is good...and I mean the redhead too...LOL
Go team NCIS...Gibbs, Ziva, Abby, Tony, Duckie, and McGee. Still not sure about Vance, but he is growing on me...LOL

I was a fan first of the televison series JAG. But I became interested in NCIS when they showed the NCIS pilot on a JAG episode. I loved it. I always thought it was a "Clash of the Titans" between Harmon Rabb and Gibbs when they confronted each other. Anyway...my wife loves NCIS and she is just now catching up on the series since I bought her the first two season episodes for Christmas. She's just about through....need to go run out and get the next to seasons.
