Explorer: This new episode recalls the ordeal suffered by journalist Terry Anderson, who was taken hostage in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1985 and was held six years and nine months (7 p.m. National Geographic).

How I Met Your Mother: On the way home to Minnesota, Marshall runs into a bully (Danny Strong) who made his life miserable in high school, in this new episode (8 p.m. CBS).

Chuck: On a mission in France to track down a missing nanochip, Chuck (Zachary Levi) decides that the setting would be perfect for a romantic getaway with Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski), in this new episode (8 p.m. NBC).

House: Candice Bergen guest stars in this new episode (8 p.m. Fox).

Being Human: A ghost, a vampire and a werewolf share an apartment in this new supernatural series based on a British hit. Sam Witwer, Sam Huntington and Meaghan Rath star (9 and 10 p.m. Syfy).

Harry’s Law: Kathy Bates stars as lawyer Harriet “Harry” Korn, who opens a practice in a tough Cincinnati neighborhood. Nate Corddry, Brittany Snow and Aml Ameen also star in the series premiere (10 p.m. NBC).

SPORTS

Pro basketball: The Indiana Pacers visit the Clippers (12:30 p.m. FS Prime); the Oklahoma City Thunder visit the Lakers (7:30 p.m. TNT).
