Shatner’s Raw Nerve: Carol Burnett sits down with William Shatner in a new episode and Marilu Henner joins him in a second new episode (7 and 7:30 p.m. Biography).

Chuck: While Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) tries to free Chuck’s mother (Linda Hamilton), Chuck and Morgan (Zachary Levi, Joshua Gomez) go after Volkoff (Timothy Dalton) in this new episode (8 p.m. NBC).

American Experience: In 1881 a 25-man crew sets sail for the Arctic to collect valuable scientific data, but three years later only six return. This new episode “The Greely Expedition” uses scientific accounts, letters, diaries and photographs to document how personality clashes, questionable decisions, inadequate planning and sheer bad luck combine to transform a lofty mission into a human tragedy (9 p.m. KOCE).

Cake Boss: Buddy makes a circus cake for the Greatest Show on Earth and Rachel Ray has a special request in the season premiere (9 p.m. TLC).

Castle: When a prominent astrophysicist is found dead of explosive decompression in her car, Castle (Nathan Fillion) theorizes her death was the result of an alien abduction. Lance Henriksen guest stars as an expert in alien abductions, while Lyle Lovett appears as a shadowy government agent in this new episode (10 p.m. ABC).

Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story: This 2011 TV docudrama chronicles Tiffany Rubin’s (Taraji P. Henson) 2008 rescue of her son (Drew Davis) after the 6-year-old boy’s father (Sean Baek) kidnaps and flies him to South Korea. Terry O’Quinn and Beverly Todd costar (9 p.m. Lifetime). Then, the real-life Tiffany Rubin gives her personal account in “Beyond the Headlines: The Tiffany Rubin Story” (11 p.m. Lifetime).
