JOYFUL NOISE: The Young Angels Choir perform in “L.A. Holiday Celebration 2010,” an hourlong special presentation of highlights of the 50th annual festivities at 10 p.m. on KCET 

SERIES

The Sing-Off: The groups collaborate on a performance of a Kings of Leon song in this new episode (8 p.m. NBC). 

Hell's Kitchen: The four remaining chefs must design and execute a dish that provides a fusion of flavors between two countries' characteristic cuisines, before two chefs are eliminated in this new episode (9 p.m. Fox). 

MythBusters: President Barack Obama, a fan of the show, challenges Adam and Jamie to retest the myth of the Archimedes Solar Ray, which recounts how the ancient Greek scientist Archimedes set fire to a fleet using the rays of the sun reflected in and focused by mirrors, in this new episode (9 p.m. Discovery). 

Top Chef: In this new episode, pop star Joe Jonas challenges the chefs to create a snack for children having a sleepover at the American Museum of Natural History (10 p.m. Bravo). 

E! Investigates: Laura Ling, who was held prisoner in North Korea, hosts this new investigative series. The premiere explores the current tragic spate of teen suicides (10 p.m. E!). 

Psych: Reprimanded for (as usual) not following correct procedure, Shawn and Gus (James Roday, Dule Hill) are ordered to attend a three-week crash course at the police academy in this new episode (10 p.m. USA). 

SPECIALS

Amish: Out of the Order: This new special profiles young men and women who have left the Amish faith to face the challenges of a modern world for which they are ill-prepared (5 and 8 p.m. National Geographic). 

Marijuana USA: Correspondent Trish Regan investigates how the illicit drug has begun to shed its stigma in this new special (6, 7, 9 and 10 p.m. CNBC). 

SPORTS

College basketball: Cal State Fullerton at Arizona (5:30 p.m. FSN). 

Hockey: The Ducks visit the Canucks (7 p.m. KDOC). 

Pro basketball: The Lakers visit the Clippers (7:30 p.m. KCAL and FS Prime).
