Is Katie Couric headed for a pay cut?

Couric Is Katie Couric facing more work for less pay in 2011? On Monday, Bloomberg reported that CBS began preliminary talks on a new contract for the anchor in December, and that the network had discussed cutting her $15-million salary while expanding her role at the network, possibly by producing and hosting a show that CBS could syndicate.(CBS declined to comment for the story.)

"CBS Evening News With Katie Couric" has been struggling with ratings, averaging 5.73 million viewers a night, down 24% from when Couric took on the anchor role in 2006. Bloomberg reports that Couric's contract provides a window when she can entertain offers from companies other than CBS, and sources say that CNN has expressed interest in her.

Couric should be fired; pretty sad news broadcaster- talk about people being overpaid and a Liberal Whiner!

Katie Couric is on CBS? I thought she was on the "Today" show.

Frankly, all the newsreaders are WAY overpaid. How can they be trusted to report on the regular average joe conditions when they are paying $200 for a haircut and dining at a fancy NY restaurant paying $500 for dinner? They get limo'd to/from work, and like Oprah now, totally out of the identifying with manstream America.

Just another face reading from a teleprompter; completely overpaid arrogant elitist.

Perky Katie should have been gone long, long ago. From the way she looks, her "perky" days are behind her. She has been grossly overpaid for years and, what for, reading the news??? Most anyone can do that.
Furthermore, she is one of the most biased persons on tv. I stopped looking at her a long time ago.
