'Glee': Tonsillitis brings production to a halt

It's the holiday season, which can only mean one thing: Sickness! Several “Glee” cast members have come down with tonsillitis, forcing the show to shut down production today, a rep for the show confirms.

The cast was scheduled to shoot a big musical number on location this Friday evening for February's post-Super Bowl episode, EW.com first reported. They'll have to get healthy fast because production is expected to resume on Monday. The musical number, however, will be rescheduled for January.

20th Century Fox Television, the studio behind the show, isn't commenting on which cast members are sick, but earlier today “Glee” star Dianna Agron posted the following message on her Tumblr along with a picture of the cutest sick teddy bear ever: “Note to self…should have gotten a flu shot. In bed, hoping that medicine, soup, my computer and a marathon of movies will be the cure.”

Get healthy and enjoy your day of respite, Gleeks!

What's going around here (Texas) is being called the 11-day flu --- it starts with a sore throat and respiratory distress. I don't think the Gleesters have "tonsillitis" --- if they have the "11-day flu" those affected will not be able to sing on Monday. Or Tuesday. Or Wednesday. Take it from one who's "been there, been done by that."

Wait. Several "Glee" cast members are ALL suffering from infected and inflammed tonsils? What are the odds? Never expect entertainers or journalists to have a clue when it comes to science and health matters. Maybe what they have is LARYNGITIS, an inflammation of the vocal folds that causes hoarseness and voice loss. And Dianna Agron was a moron for not getting a flu shot, since her livelihood depends on maintaining a healthy respiratory tract.

Santa brought my present early.
I wish them a slow, slow recovery.

whatever it is to slow down this show i'm loving it !!!!!

lol. I join Brittany and kelly. 'Glee' defines overrated.

Too much spit and other bodily fluid swaps on the set and in the cast trailers
