'Glee' poll: Who's your favorite new Gleek?

Despite having my reservations about the exponentially expanding "Glee" cast, newcomers such as Sam (Chord Overstreet), Blaine (Darren Criss) and Coach Beiste (Dot Jones) have been surprisingly welcome and popular additions. And judging from “Glee” co-creator Ryan Murphy's recent comments, there will be many more fresh faces roaming the halls of McKinley High in a couple of years.

"Every year we’re going to populate a new group. There's nothing more depressing than a high schooler with a bald spot,” he told news.com.au.

Murphy anticipates that some of the current cast will exit the show at the end of the 2012 season as their characters graduate. "I think you have to be true to the fact that here is a group of people who come and go in these teachers' lives -– they graduate and they're gone," he said. But there's no denying that fans have latched on to the Glee Club members and the rising stars who portray them, so Murphy is “concerned” about a big cast change. However, “I think one of the things I'm very happy we’ve been able to do this year is we’ve brought in new characters,” he added.

Indeed, I think that is one area where the show has really succeeded this season. The introductions of Sam and Blaine haven't been as intrusive as one would imagine, and Overstreet and Criss have turned in overwhelmingly charismatic performances. Meanwhile, Jones brought something really unexpected to the role of Coach Beiste -- a lovely vulnerability. Even the characters we barely glimpsed such as Sunshine Corazon (Charice) made quite an impression. That leads me to the following poll...

I'm more of 24, csi, ncsi, prison break @ dr. House fanatic but since charice appeared in glee, now glee is on top of my list! I just love that girl ! She has a very powerful voice. She sings from her heart and soul!

Well, I am loving all the new characters but I think Sunshine is the best of them. That girl is really unbelievable. It seems that she has an extra lungs in her body. Take note, her body is so tiny. Great!

I voted for Darren Criss of course, because he's an amazing singer AND because he's harry freaking potter haha. I can see why Charice is 2nd though because she's a brilliant singer as well, but unfortunately she hasn't been shown on Glee that much yet. So I still say Darren Criss is the best newcomer out of all.

But seriously, Sam's character was one of the most disappointing out of them all. I was so excited when I heard Chord Overstreet was coming onto the show, and then when Duets came on, I became even more so! He seemed like such a sweet guy and I had high hopes of him of having his character developed. If you read Glee fanfiction, you can tell many people had high expectations of his character being developed and actually having substance that they even wrote stories on him without even knowing him at all. But now, after we have come to episode 10, Sam's character is such a huge let down. I don't mean to offend anyone, but come on! With the abs, the huge lack of development in Quinn and his relationship so that it REALLY did feel like Barbie and Ken. I mean come on, A PROMISE RING? Like seriously...Puck and Quinn's relationship was so much more developed! And Sam's character seems like one of those boys who just want a leg up in the social ladder; I find it hard to believe that he suddenly wanted to share a promise ring with Quinn. And yes, you can argue that they look so cute together but like...Glee didn't develop it at all! Every time I see them together I cringe. And Overstreet's vocals aren't the best either, especially when compared to Darren Criss (who is getting like million of views on Youtube and teenage dream is top of the charts on Itunes!!)

Though I can't say that Glee has been focusing on character development lately, you know? Everything seems so rushed! I wish they would slow it down at least a little bit. There's so many missed gaps in Blaine and Kurt's relationship and come on, what about Amber!? I seriously want to have her character be developed because god, that girl has vocals. And it's such a relief to finally see Santana have a vocal.

Mm, basically, I wish they had put more effort in Sam's character. There were so many ways they could have gone with him...but in a way I'm happy because Darren Criss totally stole the spotlight from him and he came in from episode 6! Even with the lead in the first ballad in sectional, Sam didn't really seem to stand out. Oh well, Darren Criss all the way!!

I hate to disappoint those people who does not want to see Charice on the next episodes on Glee coz Charice is definitely gonna be back. For those who do not know, the title of Glee Season 2 is Foreign Exchange so there is no way that the foreign exhange student named Sunshine Corazon will not reappear.

i don't understand how people don't think chord overstreet isn't an AMAZING aspect to the show. he is so cute, not to mention that gorgeous body. his storyline is great, his singing voice is adorable and his and dianna's chemistry is amazing. what is with people these days?

I want more of Dave Karofsky. I want him to sing and dance and become a new Gleek. He'd be a great addition to New Directions, better than Puck I would think. But, anyway...

I'm voting for Charice. She'll be back in the post-suberbowl episode! I'm pretty excited for the Regionals results, they can't possibly have a triple tie for Nationals.... but, with Murphy you never know.

I voted for Charice and Darren, but for heaven sake I could not get enuf of this girl Sunshine Corazon, although her acting it`s not her best but she is a dope to watch her face and seems teasing Rachel and as new comer yes she`ll learn a lot of acting like the others. Her singing also is adorable is just like listening of musical heaven with the divine voice her "listen" is amazing as well I only hope that they ask her to sing some classics music because I just saw her 2 christmas songs on Rockefeller her rendition is very soulful and stellar very impresive I could not believe that she is actually te one who shines among those others big singers and she really is.

well, voted for charice just because with just a few lines or let say minutes of glee time she still managed to shine. now my 2nd choice is darren because he is interesting however its getting kinda predictable / complicated for his character to be seen - kurt needed to transfer to warblers just so they can explain darren's screen time. next is dot jones just because she is amazing though they make her try so hard.

I would have to go with Darren Criss. The guy has a purpose in the show and who doesn't love a boy in a suit?

As for the rest of the guest-stars:

Charice is unabashedly a phenomenal singer though I do believe she's only there for one episode. Too bad she's only a stunt cast. Her overzealous fan base would flock here to skew the poll results in her favour as they do with every single glee poll.

Chord Overstreet is just pure eye candy, though I'm quite positive that is one of the only reasons why he has a substantial amount of screen time. He too has a growing fan base.

Dot Jone is amazing and she shows the true heart and soul of being an outsider. Her few scenes in the early episodes were full of heart. A great actress.

John Stamos I can't say much. Emma needs a love interest other than Mr. Schu. And I don't think there's many other men in the show. (students don't count!)

Charice - is undeniably an amazing singer and for someone who has only been in 1 episode so far and make that kind of an impression, is quite impressive. she'll be back for the Super Bowl episode and i hope she does a duet with Jonathan Groff/Jesse St. James (who i heard will be back for 9 episodes as well)

Darren Criss - is waaayyy better than most of the other Glee guys... and actually, he's by far better than all the ND guys combined. LOL. they should have given him the Finn role from the very beginning with Cheyenne Jackson as Mr. Shue.

Chord Overstreet - is lame and his so called "character development" is a waste of screen time.

Dot Jones - is a breath of fresh air and just what the show needed cuz Jane Lynch/Sue Sylvester can only carry the show so far.

i voted for sushine corazon. The rivalry between her and rachel berry will certainly be an epic battle. I hope they end up being friends in the end. I hate conflicts.

I can't see the reason why charice should not be included in the list.

1. SHE IS A RECURRING CHARACTER
>>unless you've just tuned in to GLEE, Murphy had already announced the return of Charice. Lea confirmed it on Billboard.com saying she'll be back during the 'Superbowl Episode'.

2. HER SONG HAS HIT THE SALES CHART
>>Both of her songs were at the Top 10 of iTunes most downloaded songs when they released the single, perhaps it's also note-worthy to say that her solo has topped that of Lea's finale song (though I still love Lea as a singer, just a matter-of-factly statement)

3. THE AUTHOR HAS INCLUDED HER IN THE LIST FOR A REASON
