Tom Arnold: That’s My Story and I’m Sticking to It: The comedian performs in this new stand-up special (9 p.m. Showtime). 

NBC’s New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly: The talk-show host helms the annual countdown (10 and 11:30 p.m. NBC). 

Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2011:  Kesha, Willow Smith, Jennifer Hudson, Ne-Yo, Avril Lavigne, Drake and Natasha Bedingfield are among the scheduled performers (10 and 11:30 p.m. ABC). 

New Year’s Eve Live: Nancy O’Dell hosts (11 p.m. Fox). 
106 & Party: New Year’s Eve Special 2010: A host of hip-hop and R&B stars will be dropping by for the party (11 p.m. BET). 

MOVIES

Animal Crackers: A Marx Brothers marathon kicks off with this super-silly 1930 romp (5 p.m. TCM). 
The Long Kiss Goodnight: Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson star in this underrated 1996 actioner (8 p.m. Encore). 

SPORTS

College football: Clemson faces South Florida in the Meineke Car Care Bowl (9 a.m. ESPN); Miami meets Notre Dame in the Sun Bowl (11 a.m. CBS); Central Florida plays Georgia in the Liberty Bowl (12:30 p.m. ESPN); and Florida State takes on South Carolina in the Chick-fil-A Bowl (4:30 p.m. ESPN). 

Basketball: The Nets battle the Bulls (Noon WGN America) and the Lakers host the 76ers (7:30 p.m. FSN). 

College basketball: The Bruins welcome Washington (1 p.m. FS Prime) and the Trojans host Washington State (3 p.m. FSN). 

Hockey: The Ducks welcome the Flyers (5 p.m. FS Prime) and the Coyotes visit the Blues (5:30 p.m. VS).
